HVAC Boiler Technician Job Summary:

This position is responsible for the troubleshooting, commissioning, repair and maintenance of commercial/industrial Boilers and associated equipment. The individual fulfilling this role will leverage their knowledge of boiler systems and components to provide service and maintenance, technical support, start-up and commissioning of a variety of different types of heating systems. Candidate shall possess working knowledge of both construction and service processes utilized in fulfillment of their field operations.



HVAC Boiler Technician Essential Functions:

  • Troubleshoot and repair electrical wiring, relay logic, control/safety circuits, electronic boards, PLCs and displays

  • Install, start-up and commission new and replacement boiler systems including expansion tanks, pumps, water level controls, etc.

  • Calibrate and adjust burner controls to obtain optimal boiler/burner performance

  • Interpret electrical schematics, mechanical drawings, blueprints, and layouts

  • Perform holistic diagnostic operations to determine opportunities for improve heating system performance

  • Proactive response to customer needs by completing preventative maintenance, repair, and/or replacement of DDC and mechanical equipment as required in a timely and efficient manner

  • Answering customer questions, performing customer training and responding to special requests

  • Complete paperwork/documentation on the work performed (time, material used and recommendations)

  • Work safely and use safety equipment; be familiar with and adhere to EPA, and OSHA policies

  • Communicate with service coordinator on project progress and future scheduling requirements

  • Maintain customer satisfaction by investigating concerns, performing job preparation, implementing corrective action and communicating with customers and staff as needed




HVAC Boiler Technician Experience, Technical Skills & Attributes Required:

  • 5+ years commercial boiler field experience or combination of 2 years education & training.

  • Familiarity with multiple boiler manufacturers including Clever-Brooks, Lochinvar, Hurst, Burnham, Triad, Fulton, Patterson-Kelley, Aerco, etc.

  • Proficiency in various boiler/burner controls including Honeywell, Fireye, Siemens Linkageless, Powerflame.

  • Understanding of building automation system interaction with boiler operation and control of associated equipment

  • Comprehension of commercial/industrial HVAC building systems such as central plants, chillers, boilers, pumps, distributed cooling/heating, etc.

  • Valid Driver's License.

  • High School Diploma required



  • Regular same day travel is required; including occasional overnight travel




Authorization to work in the United States indefinitely without restriction or sponsorship



Position is full-time Monday - Friday
