Job summary

Responsibilities

Qualifications

High school graduate. Trade school graduate or completion of an approved trade apprenticeship program in commercial heating / ventilation / air conditioning and building management controls.

Experience

Must hold a valid CT OE2 license or have pertinent experience/education that will allow to be able to sit of CT OE2 Test within 6 months of hire.

Licensure

CT OE2 Operating Engineer License, if hired without OE2 must have qualifications to take test and complete and pass testing within 6 months of date of hire, valid driver's license.

Special Skills

Must have at least five (5) years experience in a comparable field, preferably in a healthcare environment. You must be mechanically inclined to perform the necessary work. You must be personal computer literate. Within three (3) months you must have demonstrated your mechanical ability to perform the required work, and the ability to operate all equipment in a safe manner. Within twelve (12) months you must have demonstrated your complete knowledge of all equipment & mechanical systems within the hospital.

Physical Demand

Must be able to work in a noisy environment. Occasionally subject to extreme temperature variations. Must be able to work in high locations (catwalks, scaffolds, ladders, etc). The job will occasionally be greasy & dirty. Extensive walking, climbing, and occasional heavy lifting. You must be able to work on a ladder unassisted. You must be able to fit into tight spaces. You must have good or corrected vision, and not be hearing impaired. You must be able to read and write legibly, and understand English.
