Job summary

The Mechanical Maintenance Technician I at the University of New England works on HVAC, mechanical, electrical, and automotive systems on campus. The role is primarily Monday–Friday, 1st shift, with flexibility for evenings, weekends during winter storms, and an on-call rotation.

The expected pay is $24.00 per hour, annualized to $49,920, with total compensation ranging from $66,525 to $79,443 depending on medical and dental plans chosen.

Qualifications

• Experience with HVAC and BAS maintenance and basic troubleshooting.
• Ability to perform preventive maintenance and repairs.
• Familiarity with mechanical, electrical, and automotive systems.
• Flexibility to work on-call and evenings/weekends during winter storms.

Responsibilities

• Perform HVAC and BAS maintenance tasks, including filter and belt replacements.
• Maintain inventory of supplies and materials.
• Perform daily maintenance on mechanical, automotive fleet, and electrical systems.
• Complete daily work assignments and operate safely according to standards.
• Carry on-call responsibilities after training.
• Maintain tools, equipment, shop, and vehicle in good working order.
• Assist with snow removal activities (shoveling, snow blowing, plowing).
• Comply with safety standards and report hazards.
• Perform other duties as required.
