Job summary

Actalent seeks a Test & Validation Lab Technician to set up and execute performance and durability tests on automotive HVAC and engine cooling components. You will configure test benches, operate data acquisition tools, and troubleshoot test setups in a collaborative lab, supporting engineers and technicians.

A strong mechanical background and willingness to learn new systems are essential. The role is contract-to-hire, onsite in Lockport, NY, with a first-shift schedule and comprehensive

Qualifications

• Strong mechanical aptitude and hands-on experience with mechanical systems or components.
• Proven troubleshooting skills in mechanical, automotive, HVAC, industrial maintenance, or technical environments.
• Experience with automotive systems, diagnostics, or repair (dealership or service technician work).
• Ability to perform diagnostics and testing on automotive systems and related components.
• Comfort working with test benches and computer-based data collection and monitoring tools.
• Great communication skills for collaboration with engineers, technicians, and team members.
• Strong work ethic and willingness to learn new testing systems and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Set up and execute performance and durability tests per test plans and specifications.
• Install, configure and remove test parts, fixtures, and instrumentation on benches.
• Operate specialized testing systems and data acquisition tools to monitor tests and collect data.
• Perform mechanical troubleshooting on test setups to resolve issues.
• Verify configurations meet requirements and adjust to ensure valid results.
• Document procedures, observations, and results for reporting and validation.
• Collaborate with engineers and technicians to plan tests and refine methods.
• Support diagnostics on automotive systems under test and identify concerns.
• Maintain a clean, safe lab environment and proper handling of tools and instrumentation.
• Participate in hands-on training to develop validation expertise and testing know-how.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of testing processes, documentation, and methods.
