Job summary

UMC, Inc is seeking an HVAC Apprentice to join our team in Colorado. The successful candidate will install duct work, line sets, and thermostats while ensuring adherence to safety practices. This role offers competitiveness in pay, ranging from $21.00 to $33.25 per hour based on experience.

The apprentice will also receive 100% paid enrollment in school classes. Experience in new construction is preferred, but we are eager to train enthusiastic candidates.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in new construction and duct installation preferred.

The successful HVAC Apprentice will strive to enhance their expertise and abilities consistently, ensuring the delivery of high-quality work in a safe manner, adhering to production schedules, and integrating UMC's Vision, Mission, and Core Values.

Hourly Pay: $21.00 - $33.25 / hour depending on experience

Actual pay depends on apprenticeship or journeyman level, education, skills test evaluation, experience, and performance.

HVAC Apprentice Duct Installer Responsibilities (Essential Job Functions)

• Moves and handles materials on the jobsite
• Installation of the following on the regular basis: duct work, line sets, thermostats, supply & return finish grills, vents (bath, fan & dryer)
• Sealing Duct
• Daily jobsite clean up
• Arrives at job sites on time as scheduled to participate in pre-planning and safety discussions
• Wears proper Personal Protective Equipment or PPE always required.
• Ensures all work is performed using proper installation procedures and safety practices.
• Ensures team participation and communication to learn from and teach others.
• Treats others with respect and dignity and incorporates UMC’s Vision, Mission, and Core Values.
• Demonstrate a high degree of integrity and maintain the confidentiality of business information.
• Possess good organizational, interpersonal, and initiative skills.
• Performs other duties as directed
• Preferred to have a high school diploma, or General Equivalency Diploma, or GED.
• You will be expected to enroll in school and attend classes regularly. The apprenticeship program is 100% paid by UMC
• All 3 rd + year Apprentices must have general new construction and duct installation knowledge with proven experience.
• Prior in new construction multi family preferred
• Must be able to use hands to finger, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; talk; hear; sit; stoop; kneel; crouch or crawl; climb or balance; stand; walk; lift or move up to 75 pounds and occasionally lift or move up to 100 pounds; work overhead and in cramped quarters. Good vision required.
• Must be 18 years or older, have dependable transportation to job sites, pass a physical and drug screening, and be authorized to work in the United States
