Job summary

Verified Custom Solutions (VCS), part of the Envelop Group, seeks an Engineering Manager to lead a team of Support Engineers serving the sales organization. You will coach, mentor, and develop engineers, set goals, and manage workload while ensuring high quality technical support for HVAC system design and equipment selections.

The role emphasizes collaboration with sales engineers, quoting, submittals, and ensuring accurate project documentation, with travel to sites as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field.
• 8+ years of HVAC support engineering experience.
• 1+ year of coaching/mentoring engineers.
• Deep technical knowledge of HVAC systems and manufacturers.
• Mastery of HVAC controls in new construction and retrofit projects.
• Able to discuss, apply and mentor peers in HVAC concepts.
• Experience with construction drawings, specs, and schedules is a plus.
• Strong communication, interpersonal and presentation skills.
• Highly organized with ability to prioritize in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop Support Engineers, provide technical guidance, and drive department performance.
• Manage policies, practices, and standards for effective operations.
• Monitor metrics and pursue opportunities for growth and efficiency.
• Adopt tools and programs to improve efficiency.
• Participate in hiring and annual performance reviews for team.
• Collaborate with sales engineers to assess HVAC needs and system requirements.
• Provide high-level technical training for offices and optimize training programs.
• Assist in design of HVAC systems and integration of VCS offerings.
• Develop scope of work, proposals, and pricing with sales engineers.
• Validate equipment selections and process submittals with manufacturers.
• Review manufacturer acknowledgments and correct orders as needed.
• Keep up with HVAC technologies and maintain product updates.
