Job summary

AES Ohio Transmission Engineering Team invites students to join the Engineering Co-op for Fall 2027. You will contribute to designing high voltage transmission facilities while gaining hands-on experience in the electrical power industry.

As a student in Mechanical, Civil, or Electrical Engineering, you will work with experienced engineers, participate in field visits, and shadow various teams to broaden your practical knowledge and problem-solving skills.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a four-year degree in Mechanical, Civil or Electrical Engineering.
• Sophomore status or higher preferred.
• Strong attention to detail and teamwork are valued.
• Experience with design software such as PLS-CADD or SolidWorks and MS Office (Excel) is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Design high voltage transmission line facilities in support of AES Ohio improvements and load growth.
• Participate in field visits to verify topography, obstacles, and address engineering concerns with construction crews.
• Update discrepancies between prints/schematics, databases and system models.
