Job summary

Rowan Digital Infrastructure is seeking an Electrical Engineer 3 to lead high and medium voltage design across a portfolio of data center projects in a hybrid Denver, CO setting.

You will direct design teams, coordinate with utilities and clients, and drive project delivery from concept through energization while upholding Rowan's standards and sustainability goals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or related field.
• Licensed Professional Engineer.
• 6+ years’ experience in design and delivery of transmission, substation and distribution infrastructure.
• Experience delivering complex electrical projects through design, construction, commissioning, and operation.
• Experience working with AHJs and utilities.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Knowledge of data center industry and trends.
• Proficiency in MS Office Suite, AutoCAD, REVIT, GIS, and Blue Beam Revu.

Responsibilities

• Lead, direct, and manage consultants in design of transmission, substation, and distribution infrastructure from concept to energization.
• Mold design, project scope, design schedule, and deliverables to meet client and Rowan requirements.
• Lead internal and external teams to decisions and drive to outcomes on multiple projects.
• Own and deliver areas of work to meet annual team goals; propose solutions for ambiguous problems.
• Partner with procurement to secure equipment for Rowan projects.
• Support RFPs for electrical infrastructure design and construction; clarify technical requirements.
• Coordinate with utilities and act as liaison between consultants and the utility.
• Help establish engineering standards and processes as Rowan scales.
• Mentor the engineering team to grow collective expertise.

Role Summary

Rowan Digital Infrastructure is looking for an Electrical Engineer 3 to join our engineering team to lead high and medium voltage design and delivery in support of projects across the Rowan portfolio. The Electrical Engineer 3 is a critical part of the technical team that will support all aspects of the Rowan approach from site origination through operations of transmission, substation and distribution infrastructure. The key focus for this role will include leading transmission, substation and distribution design and deployment in support of Rowan critical capacity. The successful candidate will have a proven track record of successfully delivering high and medium voltage infrastructure projects. The successful candidate will also have excellent strategic thinking skills, organizational and communication skills, the ability to multitask, comfort with ambiguity, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment.

Travel

Ability to travel up to (25%) for company gatherings, factory witness testing, meetings, or to project sites.

$130K - $155K (Offers Bonus)

Essential Responsibilities

• Lead, direct, and manage consultants in design of transmission, substation, and distribution infrastructure from concept to energization to support Rowan critical capacity. Identify risks during all stages of the project lifecycle
• As a technical SME, mold design, project scope, design schedule, and deliverables to meet client and Rowan requirements
• Lead internal and external teams to decisions and drive to outcomes on multiple projects for the engineering team
• Owns and deliver areas of work in service of annual goals of the team. Independently identifies solutions to solve ambiguous, open-ended problems. Helps guide the team and seeks and integrates feedback openly. Works primarily with cross-functional partners while driving cross-team collaboration
• Partner with procurement to deliver the equipment required for the success of Rowan projects
• Support RFPs for electrical infrastructure design and construction. Review proposals for conformance with the requirements of the RFP. Provide clarification on technical requirements
• Integrate with the energy team to coordinate with the identified utilities. Act as the technical liaison between the consultant and the utility
• Support the growth of the engineering team and of Rowan by helping to establish engineering standards and processes as Rowan scales
• Demonstrate a customers are our North star mentality. Earning, nurturing, and creating trust and relationships with utilities and client technical experts
• Mentor the engineering team to grow the teams collective expertise
• Support other technical tasks not listed as required

Education, Skills, and Experience

Preferred

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or related field
• 8+ years’ experience in design and delivery of transmission, substation and distribution infrastructure, or an applicable adjacent industry
• Data center and substation engineering experience preferred

Required

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or related field
• Licensed Professional Engineer
• 6+ years’ experience in design and delivery of transmission, substation and distribution infrastructure, or an applicable adjacent industry
• Experience delivering complex electrical projects through design, construction, commissioning, and operation
• Experience working with external stakeholders including AHJ’s and utilities
• Experience communicating with senior leaders and executives at all levels of the organization
• Knowledge of data center industry and trends
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, and highly cross-functional environment.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills
• Experience of proficiency in MS Office Suite, AutoCAD, REVIT, GIS, and Blue Beam Revu.
