Job summary

Ford Motor Company’s Electrified Propulsion Engineering team seeks a Mechanical Engineer to perform 1D and 3D thermal/CFD analyses on battery packs, post-process results, and support vehicle development milestones.

Requires BS in Mechanical Engineering; MS preferred, 2+ years in thermal analysis, experience with StarCCM+, Ansa, and Hypermesh for CAE modeling, with battery pack knowledge preferred. The role is hybrid with four onsite days/week; salary range $65,100–$166,200, plus benefits.

Qualifications

• BS in mechanical engineering or equivalent; MS preferred.
• 2+ years in thermal analysis and CFD for product development.
• Expert in heat transfer theory and CAE thermal methods.
• Experience with HV battery pack design knowledge preferred.
• Proficiency with StarCCM+, Ansa, Hypermesh for CAE modeling.

Responsibilities

• Perform 1D and 3D thermal/CFD analysis on HV battery packs.
• Post-process results to guide design and milestones.
• Analyze thermal test data and correlate with CAE models.
• Define loading/boundary conditions for CAE models.
• Coordinate CAE testing and instrumentation with test teams.
• Lead CAE-testing interactions and support testing signoff.
