Job summary

Ford's Global Electrified Powertrain Engineering team seeks a structures CAE engineer to lead HV battery internals and system structural design using CAE tools. You will work with battery design & release engineers on cutting-edge battery technologies for managing the battery functional environment to be within specified operating conditions.

The position requires building 3D CAE models, debugging FE models, and performing non-linear structural analyses with ABAQUS/Ansys/OptiStruct, then

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Structural Engineering or equivalent.
• 4+ years of experience with structural components and designs.
• Experience with CAE structural modeling and non-linear analysis is required.

Responsibilities

• Build 3D battery internal structural CAE models from CAD designs.
• Debug complex finite element models independently.
• Run 3D structural analyses for HV battery packs using ABAQUS, Ansys, OptiStruct or similar.
• Evaluate results and provide design direction to battery and vehicle teams.
• Coordinate boundary conditions with vehicle programs and labs.
• Assist CAE teams overseas on meshing and geometry cleanup.
