Job summary

Advantage Technical is seeking an experienced HV Battery Structural CAE Engineer to support electrified powertrain development in Dearborn, MI. This temporary role centers on structural analysis, simulation, and design optimization of high-voltage battery systems using ABAQUS and related tools.

You will build 3D CAE models from CAD data, run non-linear FEA, correlate results with test data, and deliver design recommendations. Collaboration across design, testing, and global teams is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Structural Engineering.
• 4+ years of structural CAE analysis and simulation.
• Advanced ABAQUS, HyperMesh, nCode/fe-safe, and 3DX experience.
• Strong non-linear FEA, fatigue analysis, and material behavior.
• Model correlation, optimization tools, and Python scripting preferred.

Battery Structural CAE Engineer - ABAQUS (Temporary)

Location: Dearborn, MI (Hybrid - 4 days onsite)

Pay: $42.30/hour

We are seeking an experienced HV Battery Structural CAE Engineer to support advanced electrified powertrain development. This temporary role focuses on structural analysis, simulation, and design optimization for high-voltage battery systems using industry-leading CAE tools.

Key Responsibilities

• Build and analyze 3D structural CAE models for battery systems from CAD data
• Perform non-linear FEA simulations using tools such as ABAQUS, HyperMesh, and OptiStruct
• Evaluate results and deliver design recommendations to engineering teams
• Support battery design validation through correlation with physical test data
• Collaborate cross-functionally with design, testing, and global engineering teams
• Identify and resolve complex modeling and performance issues
• Develop technical reports with clear findings and recommendations
• Support continuous improvement in battery system performance and reliability

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Structural Engineering
• 4+ years of experience in structural CAE analysis and simulation
• Advanced expertise with ABAQUS, HyperMesh, nCode/fe-safe, and 3DEXPERIENCE (3DX)
• Strong knowledge of non-linear FEA, fatigue analysis, and material behavior
• Experience with model correlation, optimization tools, and Python scripting preferred
• Excellent problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills
