Job summary

SERES is seeking a Robotics Algorithm Engineer to advance a next-generation humanoid platform with high-bandwidth torque control and full-body actuation. You will implement learning-based whole-body control for locomotion, manipulation, and perception, coupling WBC, IK, and simulation to bridge research and real-world robot behavior.

You will work across VLA/WAM models, vision-based RL, state estimation, and real-robot deployment while collaborating with perception, firmware, and hardware teams

Qualifications

• 3+ years of robotics-related work in controls, RL, or related fields.
• Strong programming in C++ and Python; ability to implement learning-based robot policies.
• Experience deploying algorithms on real robots and in Linux environments.
• Familiarity with whole-body control, humanoid robotics, or mobile manipulation.
• Experience with MuJoCo, Isaac Sim/Isaac Lab, or similar simulation platforms.

Responsibilities

• Develop learning-based whole-body control policies for humanoid robots.
• Coordinate locomotion, balance, torso, arms, and end-effectors.
• Integrate learned policies with WBC, inverse dynamics, IK, and optimization-based control.
• Develop robust contact-aware behaviors for locomotion, manipulation, and interaction.
• Analyze and debug instability, contact failures, coordination issues, and policy failures.
