Job summary

Schaeffler Group USA Inc. is seeking a Mechanical, Mechatronics, or Systems Engineering Co-Op for its Humanoid Robotics team in Fort Mill, SC.

You will work with senior engineers to transition R&D projects into real-world products, applying hands-on skills to verify designs and support prototyping and testing. You will model components in Creo, perform Ansys FEA and Matlab simulations, and help validate performance through prototype testing across multiple concurrent initiatives.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical/Mechatronics/Systems Engineering or related technical discipline
• Maintain a 2.5 GPA or higher
• Ability to commute to the assigned work location
• Experience with Creo, Ansys, and MATLAB for design, analysis and simulation

Responsibilities

• Engineering Analysis & Calculations: torque/force sizing, motor power, GD&T analysis
• 3D CAD Design: Creo-based part modeling and test fixture design
• Simulation & Modeling: Ansys FEA, Matlab simulations, first-principles calculations
• Prototype Build Assistance: assist senior engineers in assembling prototypes
• Test Plan Development & Execution: draft test procedures, set up rigs, run validation tests on prototypes
