At the CSB we are dedicated to making a positive impact in the community we serve. We are seeking an individual who is passionate about supporting others and has the skills to navigate the complexities of public assistance programs. As a key member of our team, you will:
The successful candidate will have the ability to read, comprehend, apply, and explain standard business material and complex public assistance policies and procedures. Must have proficient skills with Microsoft products and the ability to navigate other applications. Be able to access and evaluate data to ensure that established deadlines are met and prioritize multiple and varied tasks. Must have excellent customer service skills and the ability to resolve conflicts and think independently.
The population of Fairfax County is very diverse where 38.7% of residents speak a language other than English at home (Spanish, Asian/Pacific Islander, Indo-European, and others) and CSB recognizes that staff competence speaking a variety of languages is necessary to meet client needs. We encourage candidates bilingual in English and a foreign language to apply. A foreign language skills stipend of up to $1,300/year (full-time) may be given for qualified bilingual employees.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with a bachelor's degree, plus one year of professional work experience in human services or a related field.
NECESSARY SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
The appointee to this position will be required to complete a criminal background check, a Child Protective Services Registry check, and sanction screening to the satisfaction of the employer. A TB screening upon hire and annually thereafter. This position is emergency/essential services personnel. (Required to report for duty during inclement weather and/or other emergencies.)
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Ability to commute to various CSB sites. Job is generally sedentary in nature; however, ability to read data on computer monitor, lift up to 15 lbs., communicate by phone, and operate keyboard driven equipment is required. All duties performed with or without reasonable accommodations.
SELECTION PROCEDURE:
Panel Interview and may include a practical exercise.
