Job summary

Pilgrim's is seeking an HR Supervisor to lead and coordinate a broad range of human resources functions at the plant level. The role focuses on employee engagement, workforce effectiveness, and ensuring policy compliance while partnering with plant leadership to drive safety and performance.

The successful candidate will oversee onboarding, performance management, labor relations, and HR programs, with a strong emphasis on communication and confidentiality.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree typically required in a Human Resources related field; related work experience considered in lieu of education
  • Two years of HR leadership experience preferred
  • Strong knowledge of employee relations, recruiting, compensation & benefits, labor relations, and employment law; excellent communication and leadership skills

Responsibilities

Human Resources Supervisor

The HR Supervisor plays a critical role in supporting plant operations by leading and coordinating a wide range of human resources functions that drive employee engagement, workforce effectiveness, and organizational success. This position is responsible for overseeing daily HR activities, including employee relations, recruiting and staffing, compensation and benefits administration, training and development, performance management, labor relations, compliance, and employment practices. Working closely with plant leadership and cross-functional teams, the HR Supervisor ensures consistent application of company policies, promotes a positive work environment, and supports initiatives that enhance team member experience and operational performance. This role provides leadership and guidance to HR staff while ensuring HR programs and processes are executed effectively, efficiently, and in alignment with business objectives.


Responsibilities:


  • Oversees the daily administration and consistent application of human resources policies, procedures, and practices to ensure compliance and support operational objectives.


  • Leads and coordinates employee onboarding, orientation, training, and development initiatives to support workforce readiness and engagement.


  • Administers compensation, benefits, and leave programs, ensuring alignment with corporate guidelines and effective communication to team members.


  • Evaluates workforce needs and recommends improvements to HR programs, policies, and processes to enhance employee experience and business performance.


  • Assists in the development and management of departmental budgets, providing recommendations related to personnel operations and resource planning.


  • Partners with plant leadership to drive employee relations, retention, affirmative action, and workforce engagement initiatives while fostering a positive and inclusive work environment.


  • Investigates employee concerns, manages corrective action and separation processes, analyzes turnover and absenteeism trends, and supports labor relations activities, including contract administration and representation during hearings or investigations as needed.


  • Other duties as assigned.



What You’ll Need:


  • Education: Typically requires a Bachelor’s degree in a Human Resources related field however, additional related work experience will be considered in lieu of the education requirement;


  • Experience: Two years of previous experience Human Resources leadership preferred;


  • Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office and HRIS systems. Strong knowledge of employee relations, recruiting, compensation, benefits, labor relations, and employment law. Excellent communication, leadership, conflict resolution and organizational skills. Demonstrated ability to partner effectively with plant leadership, manage multiple priorities, maintain confidentiality, and drive HR initiatives that support business objectives and team member engagement.
