Join the U.S. Army Reserve as a Human Resource Specialist Soldier

Are you seeking a unique opportunity to stand out in the job market? Consider joining the U.S. Army Reserve as a part-time Human Resource Specialist Soldier, with full-time benefits. This role offers the chance for service as an Enlisted Soldier or an Army Officer in the Newport News area, in your spare time.

A Human Resources Specialist supports Soldiers' welfare and well-being, helping leaders keep Soldiers combat-ready and effective.

Job Duties:
  • Assist with all human resource support matters
  • Oversee strength management and distribution actions
  • Ensure the readiness, health, and welfare of Soldiers
  • Provide postal and personnel accountability support
  • Maintain emergency notification data
Requirements:

Applicants must first take the ASVAB test to assess strengths and identify suitable Army jobs. We welcome all who meet or can meet our criteria, including passing the ASVAB.

Training:

Training includes 10 weeks of Basic Combat Training and nine weeks of Advanced Individual Training, with on-the-job instruction in human resource systems. Training involves classroom and field experiences.
