Job summary

The U.S. Army Reserve is hiring a part-time Human Resources Specialist to support Soldiers and units with personnel actions, onboarding, and employee relations in a federal service setting.

You will manage personnel actions, onboarding, and confidential records to ensure efficient HR operations. You will handle personnel data, prepare reports, and provide administrative support during monthly drills, annual training, and mobilization periods while gaining practical HR skills and leadership

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; additional education in HR, business administration, or related fields preferred.
  • Ability to attend and complete a 19-week paid training program to acquire essential HR skills and certifications.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Commitment to service and willingness to participate in periodic training and mobilization activities.
  • Eligibility to meet military and security clearance requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Support and execute personnel actions such as promotions, transfers, and evaluations.
  • Assist in onboarding new Soldiers and managing personnel records with accuracy and confidentiality.
  • Address employee relations issues, providing guidance and support to Soldiers and unit leaders.
  • Maintain and update personnel files and databases, ensuring compliance with federal regulations.
  • Prepare reports related to staffing requirements, personnel data, and administrative metrics.
  • Participate in monthly drills, annual training, and mobilization periods, providing administrative support as needed.
  • Continuously improve HR processes through training and professional development opportunities.
