Job summary

Walbridge is seeking a Human Resource Specialist to drive a positive culture on a state-of-the-art construction project near Van Buren Township, MI. You will manage HR processes, act as a trusted advisor to staff and management, and ensure strong employee relations on a fast-paced site.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree in HR or related field and 3–5 years of HR experience, with travel up to 10%. Proficiency in HRIS, MS Office, and data analysis tools is essential.

Qualifications

• Expertise in a specific HR specialty area (e.g., recruitment, team member relations, benefits administration).
• Proficiency in HR information systems, databases, MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, SharePoint), and data analysis tools.

Responsibilities

• Champion Walbridge culture of inclusion and promote strong working relationships.
• Provide guidance and maintain compliance with EEO, labor classifications, and OFCCP requirements.
• Partner with on-site project supervisors, facilitate Talent Acquisition, and support the HR team.
• Provide oversight of new team member programs, health & wellness initiatives, training, labor postings and signage, and substance abuse testing.
• Lead investigations and resolve team member relations matters promptly.

Responsibilities

Your Key Responsibilities

• Champion: Advance Walbridge culture of inclusion initiative and promote strong working relationships.
• Guide: Provide guidance and maintain compliance with EEO, labor classifications, and OFCCP requirements.

Qualifications

To Qualify for the role, you must have

• Strong understanding of HR principles, practices, and procedures.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive issues with discretion.
• Excellent time management, organization skills, and ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
• Willingness and ability to travel; travel is estimated at 10%.

Ideally, you’ll also have

• Experience working in a construction or unionized environment.
• Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills.
• Ability to build relationships and work effectively with people at all levels of the organization.
