Job summary

HMSHost operates the Field HR Specialist role at Manchester-Boston Regional Airport (MHT). The position supports day-to-day HR processes and deployment of HR initiatives, including recruiting, onboarding, orientation, and data management.

The role works under established guidelines to maintain a positive HR presence across operations, reporting to the HR Manager in many structures. It is a non-exempt role focused on compliance, employee relations, and timely HR data handling while delivering

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • 3–4 years of administrative experience in an HR environment.
  • Coursework toward HR certification or knowledge of HR compliance.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to interpret policies.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and familiarity with HRMS systems.

Responsibilities

  • Establish and maintain a positive HR presence with associates and management within the branch.
  • Support recruiting, onboarding, and orientation activities for new hires.
  • Process HR data and complete HRMS transactions accurately.
  • Generate reports and maintain logs and checklists.
  • Coordinate and deliver new hire orientation and training.
  • Respond to associate inquiries on payroll, benefits, PTO and policies.
  • Ensure compliance with laws, regulations, and company policies.

Job description

The Field HR Specialist based in Manchester-Boston Regional Airport (MHT) is responsible for supporting day-to-day administrative HR processes and procedures within the branch. This role is primarily tactical in nature, working within clearly defined guidelines and established policies. The Specialist assists in deploying corporate and local HR initiatives, supports recruiting and onboarding activities, delivers orientation and training, and ensures accurate HR data management.

This position plays a key role in maintaining a positive HR presence across operations and staff and typically reports to the HR Manager (depending on local structure). This is a non-exempt role.

Essential Functions
  • Establish and maintain a positive HR presence with associates and management within the branch
  • Support compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws, collective bargaining agreements, and company HR policies
  • Ensure HR standards are clearly communicated and consistently followed
  • Coordinate and support HR investigations as needed
  • Proactively engage with associates to identify and resolve HR-related issues, escalating when appropriate while maintaining confidentiality
  • Partner with operations to ensure compliance with airport and landlord policies and procedures
  • Support full-cycle recruiting, including job postings, applicant screening, interview coordination, onboarding administration, and badging logistics
  • Participate in job fairs and other recruitment initiatives as needed
  • Respond to associate inquiries related to payroll, benefits, scheduling, policies, PTO, and onboarding
  • Maintaining employee files and records
  • Processing HRMS transactions and updates
  • Generating reports and maintaining logs/checklists
  • Managing HR documentation and retention requirements
  • Coordinate and deliver new hire orientation
  • Promote positive associate relations and support a healthy workplace culture
Minimum Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED required
  • 3-4 years of administrative experience in a Human Resources environment
  • Coursework toward HR certification or demonstrated knowledge of HR principles, policies, and compliance requirements
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to interpret policies and communicate effectively with associates at all levels
  • Strong understanding of HR principles, practices, and regulatory requirements
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and familiarity with HRMS systems (PeopleSoft experience preferred)
