Job summary

UNC Finance and Operations is seeking an HR Specialist to deliver professional HR services to the Service Center for Excellence for the Division of Finance and Operations, Institutional Integrity and Risk Management, and designated units. These divisions include approximately 2,000 employees and a substantial budget.

The HR Specialist functions as a departmental liaison, performing core HR tasks such as recruitment and onboarding, classification and compensation, and payroll/leave/benefits

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in HR or related field preferred.
• Experience providing HR support for SHRA and EHRA non-faculty staff is desirable.
• Strong knowledge of recruitment, onboarding and payroll processes.

Job description

Hybrid: This position may be eligible for a hybrid work arrangement that may include a partially remote work location, consistent with System Office policy. UNC Chapel Hill employees are generally required to reside within a reasonable commuting distance of their assigned duty station.

This position will provide professional human resources services to the Service Center for Excellence (SCE) for the Division of Finance and Operations (F&O), Institutional Integrity and Risk Management (IIRM), and designated other units of the University. These divisions include approximately 2,000 employees with an overall budget of more than $500 million.

The HR Specialist functions as a departmental liaison in HR services for both SHRA and EHRA Non-Faculty employees to better streamline HR shared services for the Division. This position performs core HR functions for employees in designated departments, including recruitment and onboarding, classification and compensation, and payroll/leave/benefits administration.
