Job description

Cummins Behavioral Health Systems is seeking a human resource professional for a key position as Human Resources Recruiter with remote work options.

Job Summary:

Under the supervision of the Human Resources Manager, the Human Resources Recruiter is responsible for providing a key component in the successful screening and selection of clinical positions throughout the organization. This individual may assist with the successful screening and selection of other positions throughout the organization as needed. This will be achieved through the solicitation of resumes from qualified candidates, initial screening of resumes, and initial interviewing (phone and/or face-to-face) of potential candidates. The Human Resources Clinical Specialist will play a critical role in ensuring we are hiring the best possible talent. This candidate must be an Indiana resident.

Essential Functions:

Other duties may be assigned. Regular and reliable attendance is an essential function of the position.

  1. Administrative duties and recordkeeping
    • Partner with supervisors/managers to determine specific skill sets and levels of expertise required for each open clinical position and qualities of an ideal candidate;
    • Screening of applicants based on those unique skill sets, as well as our standard screening criteria to ensure that the candidates meet the specific position requirements;
    • Maintain all pertinent applicant and interview data in a database;
    • Select qualified candidates from the applicant pool; matching candidates with open positions, competency assessment, submitting finalist candidates for supervisors/managers to select from, and arranging for those interviews;
    • Perform reference checks for potential employees;
    • Write and forward rejection letters;
    • Finalize negotiations once the supervisor/manager makes a selection;
    • Assist with the completion of the Personnel Action Forms once a selection has been made;
    • Assist in preparing and sending new employee orientation packages;
    • Perform other special projects as assigned.
  2. Develop and execute recruiting strategies for hard-to-fill clinical positions
    • Work with supervisors/managers to develop recruiting strategies for hard-to-fill clinical positions;
    • Efficiently and effectively assist with filling open positions;
    • Conduct regular follow-up with supervisors/managers to determine the effectiveness of recruiting strategies and implementation;
    • Develop pool of qualified candidates in advance of need;
    • Research and recommend new sources for active and passive candidate recruiting;
    • Build networks to find qualified passive candidates;
    • Post openings with professional organizations, and in other position appropriate venues as needed;
    • Utilize the Internet for recruitment;
    • Post positions to appropriate Internet sources;
    • Work with appropriate staff members to improve the company website recruiting page to assist in recruiting;
    • Research new ways of using the Internet for recruitment;
    • Use social and professional networking sites to identify candidates as appropriate.
  3. Network through industry contacts, association memberships, and employees
    • Locate and document where to find ideal candidates;
    • Aid public relations in establishing a recognizable “employer of choice” reputation for the organization, both internally and externally;
    • Communicate with supervisors/managers and employees to establish rapport, and to identify new candidate leads;
    • Create contacts within the industry;
    • Maintain regular contact with possible future candidates.
  4. Coordinate and implement college recruiting initiative
    • Coordinate college recruiting initiatives;
    • Attend career fairs for recruiting and company recognition;
    • Develop working relationships within colleges to aid in recruiting;
    • Give presentations at colleges, attend student group meetings, and increase college awareness of the company before and after career fairs.

Education and/or Experience Required:

  • Must have an understanding of the behavioral health field and the skills, education level, and character traits that will most effectively match the organization’s goals;
  • Must possess a solid understanding of employment and labor laws such as equal opportunity employment guidelines and rules for applicants with disabilities;
  • Minimum of two years recruiting experience.
