KHS reasonably expects to pay starting compensation for the position of Human Resources People Relations Advisor in the range of $83,625 – $106,622 annually.

About the role

The People Relations Advisor serves as a trusted partner to employees and managers, addressing workplace concerns, resolving conflicts, and ensuring compliance with company policies and employment laws. This role supports performance management, disciplinary actions, employee accommodations, and investigations into workplace grievances, while fostering a positive and inclusive work environment. The People Relations Advisor plays a critical role in building trust and effective communication between employees, management, and HR.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Serve as a trusted advisor to employees and managers, addressing workplace concerns and resolving conflicts in alignment with company policies and legal standards.
  2. Drive performance management processes, including goal setting, coaching, and annual reviews.
  3. Provide guidance on disciplinary actions, ensuring consistent application.
  4. Facilitate interactive process meetings between managers and employees regarding requests for disability accommodation.
  5. Conduct thorough investigations into employee complaints, including harassment, discrimination, and other grievances.
  6. Develop and deliver training sessions on employee relations topics.
  7. Provide coaching to managers to enhance their ability to handle employee relations issues effectively.
  8. Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
  9. Assist in the review, development, and communication of HR policies and procedures.
  10. Provide guidance on HR policies and procedures, keeping stakeholders informed of updates.
  11. Maintain detailed documentation of employee relations cases, ensuring confidentiality and compliance, and in accordance with HR best practices.
  12. Promote a positive work environment by championing diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging initiatives.
  13. Support change management initiatives to ensure smooth transitions during organizational shifts.
  14. Analyze employee relations trends and metrics to recommend improvements to organizational practices.
  15. Work closely with the HR team to support organizational goals and initiatives and strengthen employee engagement and culture.
  16. Act as a liaison between employees, management, and HR to build strong relationships and trust.

Education and experience:

  1. Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
  2. Minimum of 4 years of progressive HR experience, preferably in an employee relations role or similar.
  3. An equivalent combination of education and experience may qualify for this position.
  4. Strong understanding of HR principles, employment law, and best practices.
  5. Proven ability to build relationships and influence at all levels of the organization.
  6. Excellent communication, negotiation, and conflict-resolution skills.
  7. Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret HR data and metrics.
  8. Proficient in HRIS systems and Microsoft Office Suite.

Certifications (Preferred)

  1. HR certification (e.g., PHR or SHRM-CP).
  2. Certification in workplace investigations (e.g., AWI-CH).
