Position Summary

The Human Resources Manager will serve as a trusted advisor to OpCo leaders and collaborate closely with them to develop and implement HR strategies that support the achievement of business objectives. This position oversees all aspects of human resources management, including employee relations, performance management, training and development, compensation and benefits, and compliance with relevant laws and regulations. This role requires a combination of strong HR expertise, business acumen, and excellent interpersonal skills. Experience working in a unionized environment, including knowledge of collective bargaining agreements and labor relations practices.

Position Details
  • OpCo Location: 877 Perry Rd., Plainfield, IN 46168
  • Work Schedule: Monday through Friday, normal business hours, with a requirement to work 100% on-site. Occasional early morning or late afternoon hours may be required.
  • Travel: N/A
  • Compensation: $80k-$95k base salary, depending on experience, with bonus opportunity based on KPIs
Position Responsibilities
  • Working as a business partner with all members of management and understanding their objectives so solutions can be provided to support the operation.
  • Serve as a liaison between management and union representatives to maintain effective labor relations.
  • Support the administration and interpretation of collective bargaining agreements (CBAs).
  • Ensure compliance with labor laws, union contracts, and company policies.
  • Participate in union meetings, grievance procedures, and negotiations as needed.
  • Investigate and help resolve employee relations issues in a unionized environment.
  • Maintain accurate documentation related to grievances, disputes, and contract terms.
  • Manage union relationships to promote a positive and productive work environment.
  • Manage employee relations and facilitating issue resolution including investigation, documentation, and possible corrective action and consequence.
  • Serve as an internal consultant to management on a broad range of HR topics including performance management, talent development, disciplinary actions, and conflict resolution.
  • Ensure the completion of an accurate weekly payroll.
  • Partner with senior management and recruiting team around workforce planning and candidate selection process.
  • Collaborate with senior management to implement strategic HR initiatives that support the company\'s growth and objectives.
  • Interpret, educate and inform leaders and associates on company policies and procedures.
  • Manage onboarding and orientation process for newly hired employees.
  • Drive employee engagement initiatives and event planning to foster a positive work culture that values diversity, inclusion, and teamwork.
  • Analyze HR metrics and data to identify trends, opportunities, and areas for improvement, and develop action plans to address them.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

  • Strong understanding of HR principles, practices and regulations.
  • Experience working in a unionized environment, including knowledge of collective bargaining agreements and labor relations practices.
  • Strong understanding of local and federal employment laws and regulations.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively present ideas and concepts to diverse audiences.
  • Strong relationship building skills with ability to build rapport and collaborate effectively with employees at all levels of the organization.
  • Proven problem-solving and decision-making abilities, with a focus on driving results.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Expert interpersonal skills and a knack for conflict resolution.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Time management skills, analytical skills, and the ability to work with little supervision are a must.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and professionalism.

Qualifications

High School Diploma or Equivalent

3+ years of experience in an HR Management role

Preferred qualifications

Bachelor\'s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field

Previous HR experience in a warehouse, or similar environment

HR certification (SHRM-CP, PHR) is preferred

1+ year of experience within a Unionized environment is highly preferred
