Sheraton San Diego Resort in San Diego, CA, is seeking a Human Resources Manager to partner with the Senior HR leadership team and develop HR strategies that meet the brand, ownership and associates' needs. The role leads recruitment, benefits, labor relations, learning & development, compliance and reporting, ensuring CA employment law compliance and a positive, engaging workplace.

Salary is $75,000 - $80,000 based on experience.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of HR experience.
• Strong organizational and leadership skills.
• Understanding of California employment law.
• Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manages full-cycle recruitment and onboarding.
• HR administration to ensure compliant employee records.
• Provides subject matter expertise on recruitment, labor relations and best practices.
• Coordinates new hire orientation and trainings aligned with Sheraton Brand objectives.
• Organizes associate engagement activities and community service initiatives.
• Supports and participates in community service initiatives.
• Open-door policy and timely action to associate concerns.
• Follow 4 Keys service standards and safety procedures.
• Adhere to attendance and reliability standards.

Job Summary

The Human Resources Manager effectively partners with the Senior HR leadership team to develop and execute HR strategies that meet and exceed the expectations of the Sheraton Brand, ownership and associates. The Human Resources Manager is responsible for supporting employee engagement, community service initiatives, labor relations, benefits, learning & development, compliance, and recruiting.

The salary for this position is $75,000 - $80,000 based on experience.

Work Schedule:

• Full Time and on-site. Flexible schedule may be required to include nights, weekends and holidays based upon business demands

Candidate Profile:

• A minimum of 1-year human resources experience
• Strong organizational, leadership and project management skills
• Innovative approach to traditional HR practices
• Comprehensive understanding of CA employment law, including labor relations, recruiting, benefits, workers comp and leave administration
• Detail oriented and resourceful in a fast-paced environment
• Bilingual English/Spanish speaking skills preferred
• Must have the ability to push, pull, bend, squat, and lift up to 50lbs on a regular basis

Job Responsibilities:

• Manages the full-cycle recruitment and onboarding process aligned with the hotel’s objectives
• Manages HR administration to ensure compliance with employee files and records
• Provides subject matter expertise to property managers with regards to recruitment, associate and labor relations and shares best practices
• Coordinates and facilitates new hire orientation and trainings that align with the Sheraton Brand and ownership objectives
• Organizes associate engagement activities and celebrations
• Supports and participates in community service initiatives
• Practices an "open door" policy and takes timely action to associate concerns
• Follow 4 Keys service standards, standard operation procedures, and safety standards
• Adhere to attendance and reliability standards
• Follow all additional duties as assigned by management
