Job description

We’re leading the way in redefining the workwear category. Our mission is to engineer better boots and apparel for our country’s tradesmen and women by working directly with real workers to learn what they actually need to execute their jobs.

The BRUNT team is not only devoted to improving on the old workwear standards, but we’re also creating a community that tradesmen and women can call their own. From our weekly hangouts at the BRUNT Garage, to hosting events across the country, we’re all about getting boots on the ground and building something real with the BRUNT crew.

What You’ll Do:

In this role, you'll operate as a true HR Manager with a sharp focus on talent management. You’ll lead initiatives that enhance the employee experience, support individual and team development, drive engagement, and help shape and reinforce BRUNT’s evolving culture. You’ll be a doer— rolling up your sleeves to deliver impact every day.

How You’ll Do It:

Onboard & Engage:

Design and lead a consistent, high-impact onboarding experience that sets the tone for new hires and accelerates their success.

Collect and analyze feedback from new employees to iterate and improve the onboarding process over time.

Own the annual employee engagement calendar, ensuring key moments throughout the year are well-executed, inclusive, and aligned with company values.

Collaborate with stakeholders across the business to manage engagement initiatives within budget and evolve strategies based on employee input.

Enable Feedback Loops:

Build and scale a feedback-driven culture by embedding feedback mechanisms across the employee lifecycle—from onboarding to exit.

Manage execution of employee engagement surveys, analyze the results, and help translate insights into actionable initiatives that support retention, growth, and morale.

Performance Management:

Own the administration of our performance management platform (Lattice), ensuring it supports a culture of continuous feedback and growth.

Support mid-year and year-end review cycles: communicate timelines, deliver platform and process training to managers and employees, and ensure smooth, on-time execution.

Monitor participation and quality, provide summary insights to leadership, and resolve any roadblocks to ensure the integrity and effectiveness of the process.

Work with the Head of People to identify opportunities to evolve the performance management approach—enhancing clarity, fairness, and impact across the organization.

Recognize:

  • Design and implement employee recognition programs that celebrate achievements, milestones, and contributions. Foster a culture of appreciation and inclusivity.

Other Areas to Support the Broader HR Team as Needed:

  • Learning and Development
  • Employee Relations
  • Total Rewards / Compensation

What You Need to Succeed:

  • Must have skills: Empathy, Conflict Resolution, Collaboration, Positivity, Ethical Decision Making, Accountability, Responsiveness
  • Bachelor's degree preferred
  • 3-5 years of human resources experience
  • Experience working in HR systems, Examples: Insperity, Lattice, Greenhouse
  • Intermediate Excel Skills and Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Suite
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Enjoys tackling several projects simultaneously and working in a fast paced and high growth environment in a generalist role.
  • Able to commute to the office located in North Reading, Massachusetts 3x a week.
