Qualifications

• BS/BA required; SHRM preferred.
• 5+ years of HR experience with a manufacturing or warehousing background.
• Union experience preferred; candidates without union experience may be considered if they can learn.

Responsibilities

• Partner with plant leadership on employee relations, performance management, coaching, and conflict resolution.
• Work with corporate to handle union grievances and labor relations matters.
• Support hiring, onboarding, and retention efforts at the site level.
• Ensure compliance with labor law, company policy, and HR best practices.
• Communicate proactively with employees on the floor; be visible, accessible, and trusted.
• Support HR systems implementation and process improvement initiatives as needed.
• Keep HR leadership informed on site-level trends, issues, and culture observations.

About the Role

A consumer products manufacturer in the Oakmont, PA area is looking for a hands‑on HR Manager to support a satellite manufacturing facility backed by a larger organization with six locations across the U.S. This is a site‑based role that blends strategic HR partnership with daily execution. You will be the primary HR resource on the ground, working closely with plant leadership and floor employees to handle employee relations, support compliance, manage grievances, and help build a strong, consistent people culture.

This role also carries real growth potential. The company is building toward a model where this person could eventually oversee HR across multiple sites, making it a meaningful step for someone who wants to grow into a broader HR leadership position.

This is not a corporate HR role where you sit behind a desk waiting for tickets. The right person is proactive, comfortable walking the floor, and capable of handling complex employee situations independently without needing to escape everything up the chain.

Requirements

• Strong communicator with the ability to build trust across all levels of the organization
• Comfortable handling complex employee relations situations independently
• HR systems experience is a plus; experience supporting an HRIS implementation is valued
• Local candidates strongly preferred; no relocation available
