- Provide HR expertise and guidance to managers and employees regarding employee matters, working closely with both to foster strong work relationships, build morale, and increase productivity and retention.
- Administer various human resources policies, procedures and plans for assigned employees.
- Act as a liaison between management and employees to quickly resolve employee relations issues preventing escalation and potential risk and liability.
- Manage all employee relations issues and resolve issues by conducting thorough and objective investigations. Document complaints, review and participate in corrective actions, give guidance in accordance with company policies and guidelines, reviewing with legal counsel when necessary.
- Serve as the point of contact for employee inquiries on a variety of topics to include benefits, employee status changes, onboarding and exiting, and policy interpretation.
- Provide performance management guidance to management.
- Utilize HRIS functionality to provide system support to all assigned employees.Review and approve employee status changes in HRIS.
- Maintain knowledge of Federal, State and local employment laws, and ensure compliance within the assigned geographic area.
- Assist with recruiting efforts as needed.
- Duties, responsibilities and activities may be assigned or changed from time to time.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources or equivalent work experience.
- 5+ years of experience as a Human Resources Generalist or similar experience.
- Employee or labor relations experience required.
- Bilingual in Spanish preferred.
- PHR or SPHR Certification preferred.
- Strong skills in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Familiarity with Human Resources Systems such as Ceridian and Oracle HCM, preferred.
- Knowledge of basic HR governance (e.g. employee relations, EEOC, FLSA, FMLA, HIPAA, employment law/regulations, etc.).
- Demonstrated ability to handle confidential matters with discretion.
- Ability to make decisions and operate independently, without Supervision, with respect to complex issues and business requirements with a high degree of exposure.
- Excellent communication skills including the ability to write and communicate concisely and clearly with persuasion and succinct styles.
- Strong listening and interpersonal skills.
- Occasional travel required.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities as well as flexibility to adapt to change with new systems and methods while working in a team environment.
Salary Range: $70,000 - $80,000/year base salary plus eligibility for additional incentive program
