Solomon Page's Human Resources Department in New York City is seeking an HR Manager to partner with the CHRO and lead a high-performing, inclusive culture. The role blends strategic HR leadership with hands-on programs across onboarding, benefits, compliance, and talent management.

This hybrid position requires 2-3 days in the office with remote flexibility, supporting a dynamic workforce and governance of employment laws at federal, state, and local levels.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of progressive HR experience.
  • Prior management or supervisory experience preferred.

Job description

The Human Resources (HR) Manager is responsible for administering most aspects of human resources practices and processes. The HR Manager serves as a strategic partner to the CHRO while fostering a positive, inclusive, and high-performing workplace culture.

Please note that this role is part of Solomon Page's internal Human Resources Department. The position is based in New York City and follows a hybrid work model, with 2-3 days per week in the office and remote flexibility on other days.

Key Responsibilities:
Talent Acquisition & Workforce Planning
  • Manage onboarding /off-boarding and orientation programs for new employees
  • New Employee Orientation Program
  • Design, develop and run a new employee orientation for internal employees
  • Manage Termination and Employee Change processes for internal employees
  • Support change management and communication initiatives.
  • Ownership of the internal referral program
  • Facilitate the internal recruiting process
  • Promote employee engagement, retention, and organizational culture.
Employee Relations
  • Investigate employee concerns, complaints, and workplace conflicts for temporary workers.
Benefits and Compensation
  • Conduct market analyses to ensure competitive compensation practices.
  • Ownership of the Employee Milestone Program and quarterly Employee engagement events
  • Assist the Benefits Manager with process improvement and AI implemented efficiencies for the Benefit reconciliation and enrollment processes (and others).
Compliance & Policy Administration
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
  • Manage processes related to ADA, FMLA, Maternity Leave and STD Claims
  • Process Shelter Point claims
  • Manage all aspects of employee leave compliance (sick, maternity, parental, FMLA, state mandated) for internal employees as well as consultants
  • Ensure benefit payments are made during unpaid leave
  • Ownership of the Workers' Compensation Program
  • Process claims
  • Track TSIL loss history analysis
  • Ensure that the correct WC codes are being used across the consultant organization
  • Calculate burden for workers comp by code and updated BCS/ADP
  • Manage workers comp coverage for states outside of TSIL
  • Ensure claim closure/resolution
  • Complete quarterly audits
  • Complete annual audit
  • TSIL workshop attendance (once a year)
  • Develop, update, and communicate HR policies and procedures.
  • Maintain accurate employee records and HR documentation.
  • Support audits and reporting requirements.
  • Manage EEOC compliance
  • Complete yearly EEO-1 Component Data Collection
  • Complete and oversee completion of End of Year Checklist
  • Update internal policies, Holiday Schedule, templates, HR Page of the Intranet, Employee Handbook etc.
Learning & Development
  • Identify training needs and coordinate employee development programs.
  • Support leadership development and career growth initiatives.
  • Promote continuous learning and professional development.
HR Operations & Reporting
  • Monitor and analyze HR metrics and trends.
  • Prepare reports related to turnover and retention.
  • Ownership of the Business Insurance Process from start to finish
  • Oversee renewal process for Business Insurance, and Medical Malpractice for the Locum business
  • Ensure we have Schedule of Insurance and full policies on file
  • Recommend process improvements to enhance HR efficiency and effectiveness by working with the CHRO on AI strategies for process improvement.
  • Conduct quarterly meetings with the HRSC team
  • Ensure resources for employment law compliance are accurate and up to date
  • Visa training and education
  • Background check compliance
  • Onboarding and termination process management for temporary workers
Qualifications:
Education
  • Bachelor's degree in human resources, Business Administration, or a related field required.
Experience
  • 5+ years of progressive human resources experience.
  • Prior management or supervisory experience preferred.
  • Experience supporting multiple HR functions, including employee relations and talent acquisition.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Strong knowledge of employment laws and HR best practices.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and conflict-resolution skills.
  • Strong organizational and project management abilities.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment.
  • Proficiency with Payroll system(s) and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Certifications
  • SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP
  • PHR or SPHR
