Job summary

AVP•SEES Group is seeking an HR Manager to provide hands-on support across locations with 60-70% travel and on-site duties. The role focuses on employee relations, onboarding, engagement, performance documentation, and practical guidance in a fast-paced, multi-state setting.

Candidates must reside in or relocate to Nashville, Chattanooga, or Knoxville, TN, to support regional operations. ABachelor’s degree and 3 years HR experience are required; PHR/SHRM-CP is desirable.

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • 3 years of progressive HR experience with employee relations and HR operations.
  • PHR or SHRM-CP desired.

Responsibilities

  • Staffing, onboarding and team readiness support with recruiters and TA.
  • Provide manager support on employee relations, policy interpretation and documentation.
  • Support employee experience through engagement activities, feedback review and retention initiatives.
  • Administer performance and HR processes including job changes, transfers and HRIS updates.
  • Provide operational HR support with reports and process improvements.
  • Ensure compliance with HR policies and employment laws and escalate risks as needed.

About the Role

The HR Manager provides hands-on support to leaders and team members across assigned locations. This hybrid role requires 60-70% travel and on-site presence to execute core People & Culture processes, including employee relations, compliance, onboarding, engagement support, performance documentation, and practical manager guidance in a fast-paced, multi-state environment.

Location Requirement:

Candidates must be located within or willing to relocate to one of the following Tennessee metro areas: Nashville, Chattanooga, or Knoxville. Residency in one of these markets is required to support regional business needs and enable effective collaboration with local teams and stakeholders.

What You’ll Do
Support Staffing, Onboarding, and Team Readiness:
  • Coordinate with leaders and Talent Acquisition on requisitions, interview logistics, hiring updates, and onboarding.
  • Monitor new hire progress and help managers address onboarding or early engagement concerns.
  • Maintain HR records and staffing reports, including vacancy, turnover, and time-to-fill updates.
Provide Manager Support:
  • Advise managers on routine employee relations, policy interpretation, performance documentation, corrective action, and attendance matters.
  • Prepare talking points, templates, and follow-up steps to support timely, consistent issue resolution.
  • Escalate complex or high-risk matters to senior People & Culture leadership.
Support Team Member Experience:
  • Assist leaders with engagement follow-up, recognition, communication, and retention activities.
  • Review survey, exit interview, and team member feedback to identify themes and recommend practical next steps.
  • Coordinate initiatives that support a positive, patient-focused culture and consistent team member experience.
Administer Performance and HR Processes:
  • Track performance management activities and assist managers with documentation and action plans.
  • Coordinate job changes, transfers, separations, status changes, and related HR system updates.
  • Partner with Payroll, Benefits, Talent Acquisition, and People & Culture teams to resolve routine employee questions and process issues.
Provide Operational HR Support:
  • Use HR reports to identify follow-up needs related to staffing, turnover, compliance, training completion, and employee relations trends.
  • Execute assigned People & Culture programs and promote consistent process adoption across assigned locations.
Ensure Compliance and Mitigate Risk:
  • Support consistent application of HR policies, procedures, and federal, state, and local employment requirements.
  • Conduct or support routine workplace investigations, document findings, and recommend timely resolutions.
  • Maintain documentation and elevate compliance concerns or recurring risk patterns.
Additional Functions
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Stay current on company policies, HR processes, and applicable employment laws.
  • Support FMLA/ADA, workers’ compensation, unemployment, leave, and accommodation processes with internal partners.
  • Assist with integration activities, communications, and employee data updates during organizational changes.
Requirements
What You’ll Bring

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited 4-year institution with a focus on Human Resources, Marketing, Communication, Business Administration, or other related course of study.

Experience

3 years of progressive HR experience, preferably in an HR Generalist, HR Manager, or similar role supporting employee relations, HR operations, and manager guidance.

Certification

PHR or SHRM-CP desired.
