Qualifications

  • 5-8 years of progressive Human Resources experience.
  • Minimum 3 years supporting a manufacturing, warehouse, or production environment.
  • Experience managing employee relations in a union-free manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Experience supporting multi-shift operations preferred.
  • Strong understanding of employment laws, HR best practices, employee relations, workplace investigations, performance management, recruiting, compensation, benefits, and leave administration.
  • Experience with HRIS systems; UKG experience preferred.
  • Excellent conflict resolution, coaching, communication, organizational, analytical, and Microsoft Office skills

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary HR resource for production employees and leaders.
  • Build strong relationships with supervisors and employees through regular floor presence.
  • Investigate employee complaints, workplace concerns, and policy violations.
  • Coach managers on performance management, documentation, corrective action, and conflict resolution.
  • Conduct workplace investigations and recommend appropriate resolutions.
  • Support a positive employee culture that promotes accountability, teamwork, and engagement.
  • Lead recruiting efforts for hourly and salaried manufacturing positions and forecast staffing needs.
  • Coordinate interviews, hiring decisions, onboarding activities, and recruiting strategies to reduce vacancies and turnover.
  • Manage temporary staffing agency relationships as needed.
  • Guide managers through performance evaluations, development planning, performance improvement plans, and employee development.
  • Identify succession planning opportunities for key operational positions.
  • Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local employment laws and administer company policies consistently across the facility.
  • Maintain personnel records and HR documentation; support wage and hour compliance, including FLSA classification and attendance practices.
  • Partner with Safety, Operations, Payroll, and plant leadership on workplace investigations, compliance, payroll issues, employee engagement, and operational goals.
  • Coordinate FMLA, ADA accommodations, workers' compensation, military leave, and other protected leaves, including return-to-work and interactive process activities.
  • Develop programs that improve employee morale, communication, retention, recognition, and employee satisfaction.
  • Conduct exit interviews, analyze turnover trends, provide HR metrics and workforce analytics, and recommend retention initiatives.
  • Support organizational changes, change management initiatives, operational excellence, and leadership development for front-line supervisors.

  • Provides HR leadership, guidance, and coaching to supervisors, department managers, and employees.

What You'll Be Doing

The Human Resources Manager is responsible for leading all human resources activities within a manufacturing and production environment. This position serves as a strategic business partner to operations leadership while ensuring compliance with employment laws and company policies. The HR Manager oversees employee relations, talent acquisition, performance management, compensation administration, workforce planning, compliance, and employee engagement initiatives that support operational excellence and business objectives.

The ideal candidate is a hands-on HR leader who is comfortable spending significant time on the production floor, building relationships with employees and supervisors, resolving workplace issues, and supporting a fast-paced manufacturing operation.

Essential Responsibilities
