Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years experience as an HR generalist, with at least 3 years in an HR Manager or higher-level position.
  • Thorough knowledge of labor laws and regulations, including wage and hour laws.
  • Ability to create and implement recruitment strategies.

Our team includes directors, case specialists, child development coordinators, coaches and teachers & staff for our West Hollywood Preschool and Pathways LA Child Development Center.

Job Title: Human Resources Manager

Work location:Administrative Offices - Downtown Los Angeles
Schedule: Monday - Friday, 37.5 hours/week.
Occasional weekends and/or evenings.
Hybrid Schedule: work 2 days a week on site; 3 days a week work remote.
Salary: $36-$41/ hour

Primary duties: Manage the day-to-day functions of the Human Resources (HR) department for the agency.Inclusive but not limited to recruitment, onboarding staff, administering compensation, benefits, and leave of absences.Enforces compliance with agency policies and procedures, and state and federal employment laws and regulations.

Other Duties include but not limitted to:

Identifies, develops, and implements efficient and effective recruiting methods.Supports implementation of all phases of the recruitment and hiring process.

Participates in interview panels for the agency as needed.

Onboards new employees into the employment portal and conducts new-hire orientation; employee handbook policy meetings.

Processes employees' change of employment status (salary and title changes).

Collaborates with the payroll team to ensure checks and balances during payroll.

Identifies, develops, and implements efficient and effective employee offboarding. Processes employee terminations and final wages payout.

Maintains the organization’s Time and Attendance platform, processing necessary changes in conjunction with the Finance department.

In conjunction with the PEO, administrates leave of absence and Worker’s Compensation for the agency.

Administers company benefits plans. Communicates benefit information to employees, including open enrollment. Processes mandated reports as needed.

Administration of 403B Retirement Plan.Processes semi-monthly deposits, and loans. Prepares yearly mandated reports (IRS 5500 and Discrimination Report).

Partners with the HR Director to understand and execute the organization’s DE&I goals and objectives as they relate to recruitment, retention, and succession planning.

Provides support and guidance to HR assistant, management, and other staff when complex, specialized, and sensitive questions and issues arise; may be required to administer and execute routine tasks in delicate circumstances such as providing reasonable accommodations, investigating allegations of wrongdoing, and terminations.

Maintains the HR Procedures Handbook.

Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommends best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.

Maintains good working relationships with all employees and sustains credibility within the organization.

Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.

·Attends to other duties and special projects as needed.

Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field; or minimum 5experience as an HR generalist, with at least 3 years in an HR Manager or higher-level position.

Thorough knowledge of labor laws and regulations; inclusive of wage and hour laws.

Thorough knowledge of regulations and best practices applicable to hiring and recruitment.

Ability to create and implement sourcing strategies for recruitment for a variety of roles.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict-resolution skills.

Proactive and independent with the ability to take initiative.

Excellent time management and organizational skills with the ability to meet deadlines and pay attention to detail.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to prioritize tasks.

Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.

High proficiency in Microsoft Office (e.g. Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint), and client database software.

Abilitytoworkeffectivelywithpeoplefromdiverseeconomicandethnic backgrounds.

Must possess a valid California driver’s license, have use of a motor vehicle, and provide evidence of automobile liability insurance.
