Title: Human Resources Manager

Status: Full Time

Salary: $62,397 - $76,149

Description

The City of Fishers is hiring a full-time Human Resources Manager. This role, under the direction of the Director of Human Resources, is responsible for performing a wide range of HR-related duties and works closely with the other HR team members in developing, implementing, and evaluating HR policies, programs, functions, and activities. Additional focus will be on managing the City’s training and compliance programs; building and maintaining effective and efficient HR processes; new employee orientation; and providing support to fellow HR team members in benefit and recruitment/hiring functions.

Examples of Duties

  • Administer city-wide annual training and compliance programs, including conducting training sessions, maintaining records, and evaluating effectiveness.
  • Administer and develop new-hire orientation and training programs to ensure a welcoming and efficient onboarding experience; Lead weekly new hire orientation sessions.
  • Build effective learning/training programs regarding policies and procedures, compliance, safety and security protocols, and new hire content for employees and supervisors.
  • Manage the city's Learning Management System (Vector Solutions)
  • Collaborate with outside vendors, department leaders and employees to maintain training and HR standards and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Provide quality customer service to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Maintain, advance, and leverage city’s human resources information system (UKG) employee self-service tools and processes.
  • Oversee city-wide annual performance review processes, ensuring compliance and consistency.
  • Draft, update, and maintain City's job description database.
  • Conduct employee stay and exit interviews; gather and share feedback with department leaders and Director of HR.
  • Support fellow department team members with HR projects and activities as needed and during increased workload (ex. seasonal hiring, open enrollment, etc.).

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree; 3-5 years of HR related work experience; SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP), HRCI Professional in Human Resources (PHR), or International Public Management Association for Human Resources (IPMA) certification preferred; Advanced knowledge of employment law and HR functions and best practices; General knowledge of structure and operation of local government; Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills; Strong communication and presentation skills, written, verbal, and with supporting software/tools; Working knowledge of HRIS software systems, UKG preferred; Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.); Strong ability to be flexible and work independently; team oriented; Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail; Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
