Job Summary

Levy is seeking a dynamic and people-focused Human Resources Manager to support our team at Michigan State University in East Lansing, MI. This role is an exciting opportunity for an HR professional who thrives in a fast-paced hospitality environment and enjoys building strong relationships, developing talent, and creating an exceptional team member experience. As the Human Resources Manager, you will partner closely with operational leadership to support the full employee lifecycle while helping foster a positive, inclusive, and high-performing workplace. You will serve as a trusted resource for managers and team members and play an integral role in recruiting, onboarding, employee relations, engagement, compliance, and talent development.

What You’ll Do

• Partner with location leadership to develop and execute HR strategies that support business objectives and operational needs.
• Manage and support the full employee lifecycle, including recruiting, hiring, onboarding, development, engagement, and offboarding.
• Lead recruiting efforts for hourly and salaried positions, partnering with hiring managers to identify staffing needs and build strong talent pipelines.
• Provide guidance and coaching to managers on employee relations, performance management, policy interpretation, and HR best practices.
• Foster a positive team member experience by promoting engagement, recognition, communication, and retention initiatives.
• Support training and development programs designed to strengthen leadership capabilities and create opportunities for internal growth.
• Manage employee relations matters with professionalism, consistency, confidentiality, and sound judgment.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws as well as company policies and procedures.
• Partner with leadership on workforce planning and staffing strategies for athletic events and other high-volume business needs.
• Maintain accurate HR documentation, records, and reporting while ensuring appropriate confidentiality.
• Support leave administration, accommodations, workers' compensation, and other HR programs as needed.
• Build strong relationships with team members at all levels and maintain a visible, approachable HR presence throughout the operation.
• Champion Levy’s culture and commitment to creating an inclusive environment where team members feel valued, supported, and empowered to succeed.

What We’re Looking For

• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Hospitality Management, or a related field preferred.
• 3+ years of progressive Human Resources experience; experience within hospitality, food and beverage, sports, entertainment, higher education, or another high-volume environment is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of HR practices and applicable employment laws.
• Experience supporting recruiting, employee relations, performance management, and team member engagement.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build trusted relationships across all levels of an organization.
• Ability to coach and influence leaders while balancing team member and business needs.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Demonstrated discretion when handling confidential and sensitive information.
• Comfortable working in an event-driven environment that may occasionally require evenings, weekends, and holidays.
