Job summary

Nexus Family Healing is seeking a Human Resources Manager for our youth and teen psychiatric residential treatment facility in East Bethel, MN. This full-time, onsite role oversees all HR functions in alignment with federal and state laws and Nexus policies.

The position requires a Bachelor’s in Business or HR, 5+ years of HR experience, and the ability to pass a DHS background check. We offer strong benefits, development opportunities, and a collaborative team environment.

• 5+ years of Human Resources experience.
• Valid Driver’s license; state regulatory driving requirements.

Responsibilities

• Partner with leadership, Finance, IT, and HR to drive engagement, growth, and retention.
• Serve as trusted advisor on performance, policy, corrective action, and employee relations.

• Coordinate compensation actions and benefits administration with Home Office HR.
• Support compliant recruiting, interviewing, and hiring practices.

Schedule/Location/Pay:

• Full-time, onsite opportunity
• 900 189th Ave NE, East Bethel,MN55011
• Monday through Friday schedule, 8am-5pm
• Pay Range: $90,000-$100,000 annually

Position Summary: Our Human Resources (HR) Manager, is responsible for overseeing all agency HR functions and operations in conjunction with Nexus home office policy, federal and state laws and generally accepted principles and practices.

Primary responsibilities:

HR Leadership & Strategy

• Align site-level HR operations with Nexus HR strategy and Executive Director priorities
• Partner with leadership, Finance, IT, and HR to drive engagement, growth, and retention

HR Consultation & Compliance

• Serve as a trusted advisor on performance, policy, corrective action, and employee relations
• Ensure HR practices meet legal, regulatory, and organizational standards

Employee Relations & Performance Management

• Proactively address employee concerns, investigations, and risk mitigation
• Support fair, consistent performance evaluations and feedback processes

Compensation & Benefits

• Coordinate compensation actions and benefits administration with Home Office HR
• Support open enrollment and respond to employee benefits inquiries

Recruiting & Talent Development

• Partner with leaders to assess workforce needs and develop internal talent
• Support compliant recruiting, interviewing, and hiring practices

Requirements

Required Education and Licensure:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Human Resources or a related field.
• 5+ years of Human Resources experience
• Valid Driver’s license required; mut meet state regulating agency and Home Office driving requirements
• Must be open to meeting the cultural needs of individuals or communities, considering factors such as language, traditions, and values.
• Must be able to successfully pass a DHS background check.

Preferred Education and Experience:

• 2+ years’ experience leading and developing HR employees
• 2+ years’ experience with labor relations
• Experience supporting employees and leaders in a non-profit environment

Physical Demands

• Must be able to assist staff in physical interventions and restraints of clients
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds unassisted and up to 100 pounds with assistance
• Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods of time (2-4 hours)
• Must be able to twist, bend and stretch in a manner conducive to the execution of daily activities within a residential treatment facility
