Job summary

Legrand seeks a Human Resources Manager to join its Concord, NC manufacturing location within the Pass & Seymour brand. The role provides HR business partnership and leadership to site leaders and manages full HR activities for the manufacturing operation.

The on-site position requires strong communication, employee relations, coaching, and collaboration with corporate HR and the site leadership team to drive business goals and growth.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in HR, Business Administration or related field of study.
  • Eight or more years of progressive HR experience, with at least 2–3 years in a Business Partnership role.
  • Manufacturing experience strongly preferred.
  • Spanish language skills are a plus.

Legrand has an exciting opportunity for a Human Resources Manager to join the Concord, NC manufacturing location of the Electrical Infrastructure Division under the brand of Pass & Seymour. As part of the site leadership team, your role is to provide HR Business Partnership and Leadership to specified functional leaders in this site. You will manage the full complement of human resource activities associated to the manufacturing operation. The right candidate should have excellent communication, interpersonal and influencing skills. Effective coaching and strong employee relations skills are essential. You will play an integral role in supporting our business goals and objectives for increased growth.

Responsibilities
What Will You Do?

In this role, you will be responsible for supporting the organization in a wide variety of HR activities including full life cycle HR support, demonstrating strategic as well as strong execution skill sets. You will also work as a collaborative partner with all local employees, managers, corporate HR team, and as a contributing member of the company’s HR leadership team. This role will have an HR Generalist reporting to them and is expected to be on-site five days a week.

Main Job Duties
  • Maintain positive employee relations with salaried and hourly workforce by counseling, mentoring, and problem solving with management and associates on matters of discipline, motivation, compensation, development, or other factors affecting job success.
  • Respond to employee requests for information on HR related matters.
  • Assist with the development of policies, practices and procedures as it relates to Human Resources and communicate effectively to ensure compliance with established policies and procedures.
  • Oversee all areas of HR responsibilities to ensure they are compliant with all federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Deploy and manage workforce planning to align with business strategy and collaborate with talent acquisition partners to fill open positions.
  • Provide local oversight and management of wage and salary programs, health & welfare plans, performance management programs, rewards & recognition programs, and training/development opportunities and various other centralized employee programs.
  • Collaborate with divisional HR team to enhance employee experience efforts and ensure employees are effectively assimilated into the business through orientation, deploying new leader assimilation process and partnering with managers to develop a robust development and training plan.
  • Champion the performance management process by monitoring activity to ensure each component is completed on a timely basis.
  • Coach managers on conducting meaningful goal setting, development and performance feedback discussions, assists with crafting a clear and defensible message to employees with performance related issues.
  • Manage the performance and development of direct reports.
  • Other duties & projects as assigned.
Education
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's degree in HR, Business Administration or related field of study.
Experience
  • Minimum of eight plus years of progressive HR experience required, with at least two (3) years in a Business Partnership role. Manufacturing experience strongly preferred. Experience supporting both hourly and salaried populations. Prior experience supervising staff is preferred.
  • Spanish language skills are a plus.

  • In depth understanding of state and federal employment regulations.

  • As part of the Legrand HR team, assists with the development of policies, practices and procedures as it relates to Human Resources. Oversees all areas of Human Resources responsibilities to assure that all federal, state, and local regulations are complied with.
  • Deploys and manages workforce planning to align with business strategy. Collaborates with Division Recruiter or outside agencies to fill open positions, including professional, support, production and temporary positions as required. Manages relationship with temp employee vendor manager.
  • Collaborates with division HR team to enhance the employee experience efforts and to ensure individuals are effectively assimilated into the business including orientation and on boarding of new and reassigned employees, deploying the new leader assimilation process and partnering with the individual’s manager to develop a robust development and training plan.
  • Manages the performance management process for the respective functions. Monitors review activity to ensure that each step in the annual performance cycle is being completed on a timely basis. Coaches managers and supervisors on conducting meaningful goal setting, development and performance feedback discussions, assists with crafting a clear and defensible message to employees with performance related issues.
