Clean Harbors is offering a Summer 2027 internship for an HR/Talent Acquisition Intern. The role is in-person, based at Deer Park, TX or Norwell, MA, with start dates May 17 or May 24, 2027 and ends in August. Responsibilities

  • Ensure Health and Safety is the priority by following safe work practices.
  • Support HR team by providing guidance to managers on employee topics.
  • Build relationships across the business by engaging with employees.
  • Support training on company policies, employee development, and career growth.
  • Assist with employee engagement initiatives including retention and workplace satisfaction.
  • Support performance management processes including reviews and development planning.
  • Assist with employee relations matters including investigations as needed.
  • Support Talent Acquisition by sourcing and engaging candidates and representing Clean Harbors at events.
  • Analyze HR data and metrics to support recruiting and workforce planning.
  • Utilize Excel, PowerPoint, CRMs to track data and follow compliance guidelines.
  • Observe all EH&S guidelines.
  • Attend Networking events within the Internship Program.
  • Complete a final project presentation.

The Opportunity

Clean Harbors Industrial Service office is seeking a Human Resources/Talent Acquisition Intern to join our safety-focused team. This internship provides students with the opportunity to gain hands‑on experience while supporting real projects that contribute to business priorities across our environmental, energy, and industrial services operations. We are searching for a reliable and team-oriented individual with an excellent commitment to safety to join our growing team during Summer 2027!

This internship is an in-person opportunity based at our Deer Park, TX office OR our Norwell, MA office. Interns will work onsite alongside our Human Resources department including our Talent Acquisition team throughout the internship.

Interns will work alongside experienced professionals, gain exposure to our industry, and develop practical skills that support their academic and early career goals.

Start Date:

Start Dates for our Summer 2027 internships are May 17th or May 24th of 2027. Internships will run through the summer and end in August.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Ensuring that Health and Safety is the number one priority by complying with all safe work practices, policies, and processes and acting in a safe manner at all times;
  • Support HR team members by providing guidance to managers on employee-related topics and organizational changes
  • Help build strong relationships across the business by engaging with employees and learning about day‑to‑day operations
  • Support training efforts related to company policies, employee development, and career growth opportunities
  • Assist with employee engagement initiatives, including programs focused on retention and workplace satisfaction
  • Support performance management processes, including reviews, development planning, and compensation cycles
  • Assist with employee relations matters, including gathering information and supporting investigations as needed
  • Support Talent Acquisition efforts by sourcing and engaging candidates, assisting with recruiting initiatives, and representing Clean Harbors at recruiting events.
  • Help analyze HR data and metrics to support recruiting, retention, and overall workforce planning efforts
  • Utilize tools such as excel, PowerPoint, CRMs, etc. to track dataFollow all local, state (provincial) and federal compliance regulations and rules
  • Observe all company environmental health and safety operating guidelines
  • Attend Networking events within the Internship Program
  • Complete a final project presentation
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
