Job summary

Jay Peak Resort is seeking an HRIS Specialist to maintain and optimize our HR information system and ensure accurate documentation across the employee lifecycle. The role collaborates with Payroll, provides data for budgeting, and supports department leaders with reporting and system training.

The ideal candidate will be highly computer literate, detail oriented, and able to work independently in a fast-paced resort environment, including seasonal peak times.

  • Experience with HRIS and payroll systems.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and email.
  • Able to work independently in a winter resort environment.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain, monitor, and improve the HRIS.
  • Process employment paperwork and changes in employee data.
  • Collaborate with Payroll to ensure timely, accurate pay.
  • Train staff on HR software and generate reports as needed.
  • Produce analytical data for budgeting and hiring.

Responsible for maintaining, monitoring and improving the organizations HRIS by performing the following duties.ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES (include the following, other duties may be assigned)Responsible for processing all employment paperwork, including hiring and separating, changes to employee rates, department, status and personal information.Maintains HRIS by monitoring workflows and integrations, troubleshooting and improving processes, and managing audit and control processes.Provides processed documents to Payroll for auditing.Forwards background check findings to management for review.Examines employee files to answer inquiries and provide information to authorized persons via internal, state government and third-party verifications/requests in a timely manner.Works closely with Payroll to ensure employees are paid timely and accurately.Investigates employee pay issues and works to resolve them.Manages permissions and access to HR software systems.Provides technical support to team members.Trains department leaders on HR software systems, specifically timecard management and report generating.Develops and runs reports through HRIS as requested from Director, HR team or leadership.Works with resort management to provide analytical data for budgeting, hiring, etc.Maintains accuracy of all personnel files by conducting audits and editing and correcting files as needed.Maintains organization of shared department email inbox, elevating specialized items to the appropriate HR team member. Provides reminders of outstanding items to ensure completion of all requests.Other duties as assigned, which could be directly related, or unrelated to original position.SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIESThis job has no supervisory responsibilities.To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. It requires that work venues are varied, and in many cases include steep stairways, multi-level buildings and outdoor work areas, subject to very cold, sometimes wet or very sunny work sites. Some facilities are located at the base or bottom area and some are semi-remote and can only be reached by traveling via chair lift(s), skis or snowboards. Walking surfaces are frequently frozen, sloped and slippery. Proper footwear is a must, indoors and out. Work days and hours, as well as the number of hours required will vary, with an emphasis on weekends and holidays.Must have very strong attention to detail and organizational skills for both the filing systems as well as the data entry that this position is responsible for. Must have the ability to work independently and possess strong multi-tasking and prioritization skills.
