Human Resources Generalist - Salaried Employee / $56,160 Per Year / Not Remote
The HR Generalist provides essential support to the HR Manager, focusing on administrative coordination across payroll, recruitment, onboarding, compliance, and personnel recordkeeping. This role ensures smooth day-to-day operations of the HR department while maintaining confidentiality and compliance with internal policies and employment regulations.
- Providing administrative support in payroll, employee recruitment, hiring, retention, and evaluation.
- Assisting the HR Manager with payroll processing, including data entry and review, to support timely and accurate payroll cycles.
- Providing first-level support to supervisors and employees by responding to payroll-related inquiries and escalating complex issues as necessary.
- Supporting, training, and overseeing employee recruitment, hiring, retention, discipline, evaluation, and employee relations.
- Assisting with pre-hire and post-hire background checks, professional license verifications, and other screening checks to ensure they are completed within timelines.
- Supporting the onboarding and hiring processes, including launching onboarding, tracking pre-hire paperwork, and providing documents for employee files.
- Maintaining employee files to ensure they are accurate, complete, and compliant with company policies and legal requirements.
- Conducting orientation and training as needed.
- Developing and implementing tracking procedures for post-hire training, background checks, performance reviews, and other compliance requirements.
- Maintaining knowledge of company policies and employment laws, and interpreting policies for stakeholders.
- Fostering positive employee relations with staff and management.
- Responding to HR inquiries from employees and managers, escalating complex or sensitive matters to the HR Manager.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Business Management, or equivalent experience.
- Minimum of two years relevant work experience.
- Knowledge of federal, state, and local labor laws and regulatory compliance.
- Professional and positive communication skills with employees, customers, and management.
- Experience with Microsoft Office Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Problem-solving ability both independently and within a team.
- Willingness to work flexible hours and occasional travel.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills to handle multiple projects concurrently.
