Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Support campus communications strategy and routines.
  • Help develop and administer departmental and company procedures and policies and interpret HR procedures.
  • Maintain employee personnel records for accuracy and compliance with policies and laws.
  • Handle daily HR paperwork including changes in title, pay, shift, department, and replacement requisitions.
  • Create and maintain reports and charts for daily, monthly, and annual distribution (headcount, rosters, performance reviews, etc.).
  • Administer the employee evaluation program to ensure timely appraisals.
  • Maintain HRIS database and payroll audit reports for accuracy.
  • Handle immigration records, reports, and filings.
  • Assist hiring managers to create/update job descriptions and post/open positions.
  • Schedule interviews and conduct pre-employment background and reference checks.
  • Coordinate with recruiting/staffing agencies for permanent and temporary positions.
  • Administer New Employee Orientation and process offers/promotions/compensation reviews.
  • Ensure SOX compliance and implement improvements as needed.
  • Administer and comply with union contracts and annual updates.
  • Answer HR, labor relations, and benefits questions and issues.
  • Maintain disability benefits records and the employee uniform/safety shoe programs.
  • Manage company cell phones, pagers, and distribution/repair processes.
  • Maintain knowledge of company policies and assist with special projects.

Job description

Implementation, active participation, completion of Human Resource functions and administrative projects. Assess and anticipate HR related needs and requirements for accurate record keeping, documentation, compliance and interpretation of Human Resource policies and regulations.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Support campus communications strategy and routines
  • Help develop and administer departmental and company procedures and policies as well as interpret various Human Resource procedures and policies
  • Maintain employee personnel records, current and historical, physical and electronic, fulltime and contract: for accuracy and compliance with company & department policies, federal & state laws and regulations
  • Daily paperwork including changes in title, pay, shift, department, replacement requisitions
  • Report generation – Creation and maintenance of various reports, charts, graphs for distribution daily, monthly, annually: Affluent Action Plan, EEO reporting, Organizational charts, Labor Statistics, Headcount, employee rosters, performance review, recall logs, employment verifications (written & verbal), human capital
  • Administer the employee evaluation program, notification and processing to ensure appraisals are initiated and completed 100% on time
  • Processing and maintenance for accuracy of the HRIS database and payroll audit reports
  • Immigration records, reports and filings
  • In conjunction with hiring managers, work to create and update job descriptions
  • Partners with hiring managers to create/post and track Internal and external open positions
  • Interview scheduling, Pre-employment background and reference checks
  • Work with recruiting/staffing agencies for permanent and temporary positions
  • Administer and deliver New Employee Orientation
  • Process job offers, promotions, and salary compensation reviews for recommendation to HR Manager and Hiring Managers
  • Sarbanes Oxley – responsible for compliance, implementation of improvements or modifications necessary to maintain 100% compliance of all Human Resource related SOX controls and testing
  • Compliance and administration of all applicable sections within the Union Collective Bargaining Agreement including annual mass updates for contract increases
  • Assistance/answer questions/issues related to Human Resources, Labor Relations and basic benefits
  • Maintenance and notification of employee short term disability benefits and records
  • Maintain the employee uniform program & safety shoe program
  • Maintain & administer distribution, repair and replacement of company cell phones and pagers
  • Maintain a comprehensive knowledge of company/department policies and procedures
  • Special projects or assignments as required

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Required Education & Experience
  • High School Diploma or GED from an accredited institution.
  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources management or a related field preferred.
  • 3-5 years of experience as an HR Generalist, preferably in a large to medium-sized company.
  • SHRM-CP certification (or ability to obtain within 12 months) strongly preferred.
