The Human Resources Generalist I at Dynamic Aviation provides administrative and operational support to the Human Resources team, with responsibilities spanning recruiting coordination, employee recordkeeping, benefits support, onboarding logistics, and employee engagement. This entry-level position helps ensure HR activities are completed accurately, consistently, and in line with applicable federal, state, and local requirements.
Location and Schedule
Bridgewater, VA (onsite). The role follows a Monday to Friday schedule, typically 8 am to 5 pm or 7 am to 4 pm. Shifts may vary to include after-hours and weekend coverage based on business needs.
Compensation
Estimated hourly pay range: USD 21 - 29 per hour.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage full-cycle recruiting for assigned positions, including sourcing, screening, interview coordination, offer-related support, and onboarding
- Support new hire orientation by coordinating room setup and cleanup
- Facilitate new hire orientation on a rotating schedule
- Assist with onboarding preparation and maintain onboarding documentation
- Support job fairs and recruiting events as needed
- Monitor employment law updates and compliance deadlines (including FLSA, FMLA, ADA, EEOC, and OSHA) across applicable states and elevate relevant changes to HR leadership
- Maintain compliant employee records, including personnel files, I-9s, and medical files
- Ensure HR records are retained and securely destroyed according to record retention schedules
- Conduct internal audits of employee files and HR processes
- Complete regularly scheduled audits, including new hire files, active and inactive I-9s, and termination folders
- Prepare documentation required for external audits or investigations as requested
- Support the Total Rewards Manager with benefits compliance audits and reporting
- Assist with planning and executing employee engagement events and initiatives
- Support employee surveys, data collection, analysis, and provide recommendations to improve engagement based on participation and feedback
- Coordinate and schedule company tours, including communication with external guests and internal tour guides
- Coordinate company sponsorship requests and process payments upon HR leadership approval
- Assist with coordination and execution of All Hands meetings and other company-wide events
Required Qualifications
- Associate or bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business Administration, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
- Basic knowledge of employment laws and HR compliance concepts
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, Outlook)
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
- Experience supporting audits or recordkeeping processes
- Previous internship or entry-level experience in Human Resources or compliance preferred
- Familiarity with HRIS systems preferred
Preferred Qualifications
- SHRM-CP or PHR certifications
- 3-5 years of recruiting experience
- Experience facilitating orientations and employee training
