Job summary

AlphaStaffHCM seeks a Human Resources Generalist to deliver broad HR support to clients across the United States via phone, email, and onsite visits. This role partners with our HR team to implement policies, manage relationships, and drive HR best practices while reducing risk.

Candidates should have a bachelor’s degree, at least 3 years of HR Generalist experience, multi-state knowledge, and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • Minimum of 3 years of HR Generalist experience with leave management and other legal protections under FMLA/ADA and state laws.
  • Knowledge of state and federal laws, regulations, and HR management practices.
  • Experience researching state HR laws and HR forms for compliance.
  • Quiet, professional home office (if not on-site) and willingness to travel based on client location.
  • Multi-state experience desirable.
  • Background in client services or account management desirable.
  • Presentation or public speaking experience, especially webinars.
  • Specialized training in employee relations, learning and development, payroll, leave management, benefits, and workers’ compensation desirable.
  • Bilingual in Spanish – preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as an HR consultant to clients by providing guidance on employee relations, performance appraisals, investigations, terminations, and reporting.
  • Guide clients in identifying problems, exploring solutions, and implementing agreed-upon strategies.
  • Support clients in developing company policies and leveraging HR vendor platforms (background checks, job postings, ATS, LMS, HRIS onboarding).
  • Develop state- and federally compliant employee handbooks with our handbook builder tool.
  • Conduct training sessions and client webinars on HR systems and topics.
  • Work with HRIS users to understand needs and define action items and solutions.
  • Provide technical support to clients, handle employment verifications, labor law posters, compensation reports, and COI requests with the team.
  • Provide support to the Client Services team on Salesforce case follow-up and closure.
  • Continually update job knowledge through education, publications, networking, and professional organizations.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Job description

AlphaStaffHCM is seeking a Human Resources Generalist (HRG) who provides a broad array of support to clients across all states through virtual contact (phone and email) and onsite visits.
The HRG supports our Human Resources team and clients by providing HR support, service plan follow-up, and assessing the organizational needs of key accounts.

Salary Range: $65,000 to $75,000

Responsibilities
  • Serve as an HR consultant to clients by providing guidance and support on employee relations issues such as performance appraisals, performance improvement plans, investigations, terminations, and reporting on outcomes to ensure clients are using HR best practices and reducing risk to their organization.
  • Guide clients in identifying problems, exploring solutions, and assisting them with implementing agreed‑upon strategies.
  • Support clients in developing company policies and leveraging HR vendor platforms, such as background checks, job postings, ATS, salary surveys, LMS, and HRIS onboarding.
  • Develop state‑ and federally compliant employee handbooks with our handbook builder tool.
  • Conduct training sessions and client webinars on systems and other HR‑related topics.
  • Work with internal and external users of HRIS to understand users’ needs and identify action items and solutions.
  • Provide technical support to clients, administer employment verifications, assist with labor law posters, supply compensation reports, manage password resets, and handle COI requests by coordinating with the appropriate team.
  • Provide support to the Client Services team on Salesforce case follow‑up and closure.
  • Continually update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities, reading professional publications, maintaining personal and professional networks, and participating in professional organizations.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Education & Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience as an HR Generalist, administering leave requirements and other legal protections afforded by the FMLA, ADA, state, and other applicable laws.
  • Knowledge of state and federal laws, regulations, and HR management practices.
  • Experience researching state websites for HR laws, locating HR sample forms, and assessing the validity of resources.
  • Must have a quiet, professional home office (if not on‑site) and be willing to travel based on client location.
  • Multi‑state experience (Desirable).
  • Background in client services or account management (Desirable).
  • Presentation or public speaking experience, particularly conducting group education in person or via webinar (Desirable).
  • Specialized training in employee relations, learning and development, payroll, leave management, employee benefits, and workers’ compensation (Desirable).
  • Bilingual in Spanish – preferred (Desirable).

Work Environment

This position is primarily office‑based, with work performed on a computer in either a corporate office or a remote home office setting. The role may require using telephones, participating in virtual or in‑person meetings, attending company events, and completing training sessions.
