Job summary

Advanced Ceramic Coatings, LLC in Duncan, SC is seeking a skilled HR Generalist to support compensation/benefits, recruitment, development, retention, policies and regulatory compliance in a manufacturing setting.

The position is full-time, first shift, 8am-5pm, with potential overtime for business needs. You will partner with management to implement HR policies and manage payroll, onboarding, training, and HRIS data integrity while promoting safety and employee engagement.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Legal or Human Resources Management required.
  • Professional certification of PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP strongly preferred.
  • Minimum five years in Human Resources, at least two in manufacturing.
  • Knowledge of employment laws, regulations and compliance.
  • Proficient in HRIS, Microsoft Office and SAP.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with employees and management to communicate HR policies, procedures, laws, standards and regulations.
  • Provide benefits orientations and enrollments; maintain payroll reports.
  • Ensure bi-weekly payroll accuracy and payroll reporting.
  • Maintain HRIS data and employee records.
  • Prepare and maintain employee files with confidentiality.
  • Recruit for exempt, non-exempt, interns, and temporary staff.
  • Write and post job descriptions; liaise with employment agencies.
  • Screen applications, perform background checks, and interview candidates.
  • Coordinate New Hire Onboarding and Orientations with HR Manager.
  • Maintain org charts, directories, and reporting as needed.
  • Support training; manage Learning Module in LMS; track courses and curricula.
  • Assist with Focus Group program and safety initiatives with EH&S.
  • Oversee employee recognition programs and events.
  • Participate in MIS audits and adherence to procedures.

Salary Range: $65,000.00 To $85,000.00 Annually

Position Summary

The HR Generalist is responsible for completing Human Resource activities and projects to support all ACC employees and management. He/she will maintain and improve functions such as employee compensation / benefits, recruitment, development, retention, personnel policies and regulatory compliance.

Essential Functions

  • Partners with employees and management to communicate various Human Resources policies, procedures, laws, standards and government regulations.
  • Provide benefit orientations, open and ongoing enrollments. Process and maintain all status reports and pay changes accurately.
  • Ensures the accuracy and processes bi-weekly payroll as well as all payroll reporting.
  • Maintains HRIS data and records.
  • Prepare and maintain employee files, assuring accuracy, compliance and confidentiality.
  • Recruits for all exempt, non-exempt personnel, interns, and temporary employees.
  • Writes, places, and monitors job descriptions/postings and associated advertisements. Act as liaison with area employment agencies (including temporary agencies).
  • Reviews applications, screens, and interviews job applicants to match experience with specific job-related requirements. Performs and documents background and reference investigation.
  • Partners with HR Manager to complete all New Hire Onboarding and New Hire Orientations.
  • Prepares and maintains bi-weekly employee listings, new hire, absentee reports, as well as, updating company organization charts, employee/phone directory and other requested reports as needed.
  • Partners with HR Manager to facilitate and provide training for workforce. Responsible for maintaining Learning Module in Master Control (ACC’s LMS system): new course creation, existing course management, job curriculums, employee training folders, etc. based on feedback of the functional manager.
  • Partners with HR Manager to facilitate ACC’s Focus Group program as a part of annual Culture Survey. Helps to facilitate ideas between Group Leaders and employees to further drive scores up.
  • Partners with Environmental, Health, & Safety Coordinator to champion an environment of safety and security by actively participating in the Safety Team.
  • Maintains and coordinates employee recognition programs. Oversees special events for staff by coordinating committees, schedules and staying within budget.
  • Works in the company’s Integrated Management Systemcontext, in accordance with its procedures and requirements.
  • Performs annual audits on HRIS and manual systems.
  • Performs other duties as assigned

This job operates in both an office environment and a manufacturing environment. The role routinely uses standard office equipment, such as computes, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. The individual will be required to adhere to safety policies and procedures on the manufacturing floor.

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle or feel and reach with hands and arms.

The employee is occasionally required to sit, climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 lbs and occasionally lift and or move up to 50 lbs. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position, Monday through Friday 8am to 5pm, with additional hours as business needs necessitate.

Skills
  • A minimum of five years of experience in Human Resources field, with a minimum of two years of experience in a manufacturing setting.
  • Applied knowledge of principles and practices of HR administration, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
  • Must be current on all employment laws, regulations and requirements.
  • Proficient in HRIS, Microsoft Office and SAP preferred.
  • The ability to research and analyze various types of data/information, including the ability to provide succinct evaluation and reporting.
  • Must have the ability to make recommendations to effectively resolve problems or issues, by using judgment that is consistent with standards, best practices, and federal and state employment law.
  • Strong ability to organize and prioritize work to consistently meet daily, weekly and monthly deadlines.
  • Must have experience with third party administrators, HSAs, FSAs, Wellness programs, forecasting and HR metrics (cost per hire, turnover, training, ROI, etc.).
  • This position requires an extremely perceptive person, who is capable and willing to relate to individuals at all levels. As unique situations present themselves, the incumbent must be sensitive to corporate culture and needs, employee goodwill and public image.
