Position Summary
The HR Generalist provides comprehensive support across a wide range of human resources functions and plays a key role in ensuring effective day‑to‑day HR operations.
Job Functions/Duties
- Support day‑to‑day HR operations across recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, benefits, and compliance.
- Provide administrative support including drafting correspondence, managing HR calendars, and organizing files and documents.
- Serve as a resource for employees by answering HR‑related questions and directing them to appropriate resources.
- Coordinate full‑cycle recruitment activities, including job postings, resume screening, interview scheduling, and candidate communication.
- Facilitate new‑hire onboarding, orientation, and required documentation to ensure a smooth transition into the company.
- Assist in administering employee benefits, responding to employee inquiries, and supporting open enrollment processes.
- Maintain accurate and confidential employee records, HRIS data, and personnel files in accordance with company policies.
- Administer FMLA and other leaves of absence in compliance with federal and state regulations, as well as company policies.
- Coordinate the leave process by providing required notices, forms, and communication to employees and managers.
- Track and document leave timelines, eligibility, certification deadlines, and return‑to‑work requirements.
- Maintain accurate and confidential leave records, ensuring timely updates in HRIS and payroll systems.
- Work closely with employees, supervisors, and third‑party administrators (when applicable) to ensure smooth leave management and clear communication.
- Assist with accommodations and modified‑duty requests in alignment with ADA guidelines and company procedures.
- Support employee relations by assisting with investigations, documenting issues, and partnering with leadership to resolve concerns.
- Assist with performance management processes, including goal setting, evaluations, and tracking required documentation.
- Coordinate and implement transfers, promotions and resignations.
- Coordinate and support the termination and offboarding process, including preparing separation documentation, conducting exit interviews, processing final pay changes, ensuring timely collection of company property, and updating HR systems.
- Ensure termination procedures comply with legal requirements and company policies while maintaining professionalism and confidentiality throughout the process.
- Assist with employee immigration processes, including collecting required documentation and maintaining case files.
- Track expiration dates for visas, work authorization, and supporting documents, ensuring timely communication with employees and leadership.
- Support visa‑related activities such as extensions, status changes, and work authorization updates.
- Conduct and maintain accurate I‑9 documentation in compliance with federal regulations.
- Prepare HR reports, metrics, and presentations as needed to support leadership decisions.
- Coordinate training sessions, compliance courses, and employee development initiatives.
- Assist in the development and implementation of HR policies, procedures, and best practices.
- Support HR projects, initiatives, and process improvements to enhance employee experience and operational efficiency.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and company policies.
- Review and process monthly insurance billings, ensuring invoice accuracy and coordinating with carriers, payroll, and internal departments to resolve any discrepancies.
- Conduct presentations and facilitate training on HR related topics at departmental meetings, employee meetings and other forums.
- Comply with Levare US HSE Policies and HSE Procedures.
- Comply with all applicable US laws and regulations.
Qualifications/Education Requirements
- Proficient computer skills with intermediate knowledge of MS Office (Excel, Word and PowerPoint) and/or company specific databases like SharePoint, Vizio, etc.
- Good oral and written communication skills
- Strong attention to detail
- Initiative, critical thinking, researching and resolving issues with thorough analysis
- Handle multiple projects simultaneously with stringent deadlines, and work in an environment, which requires flexibility, innovation, superb customer service skills, and organization
- Working knowledge of HR policies, practices and current legislation
- Ability to follow the company's IMS (in accordance with ISO 9001, ISO 14001 & ISO 45001) policies and procedures at all times
- 4+ years of Human Resources Generalist experience
- HRIS system experience required, UKG experience a plus
- Bachelor's degree in HR or a business‑related field preferred or equivalent years of directly related experience
- PHR/SPHR certification or willingness to acquire
Working Conditions & Physical Requirements
- May be required to be available after hours for time‑sensitive HR needs or employee support.
- Periodic travel may be required, including visits to company locations, trainings, or meetings as needed.
- Normal office environment and occasional exposure to plant environment
- Occasionally required to move about the facility
- Use of personal protective equipment is mandatory
