Job summary

LifeWise Academy Inc in Ohio is seeking a gospel-centered HR Generalist to join our HQ team in Hilliard, just outside Columbus. You should be a people person who loves helping others and thriving in a fast-paced nonprofit environment.

In this full-time role you will support performance management, policy compliance, recruitment, and employee relations while upholding our values and confidential standards. We offer competitive salary from $55,000 per year, medical/dental/vision, and a retirement

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience as an HR professional.
• Bachelor’s degree in human resources or business administration (preferred).
• Experience in faith-based or nonprofit environments (preferred).
• PHR or SPHR certification (preferred).
• Excellent verbal and written communication; ability to lead crucial conversations.
• Strong knowledge of HR laws, policies and procedures.

About the Job

We are looking for a gospel-centered, strategic thinker with a passion for people and substantial experience in HR to join the LifeWise team. The Human Resources Generalist will play a pivotal role in implementing HR strategies and processes that align with the goals of LifeWise Academy and foster a positive, collaborative work culture. This full-time position is based at our headquarters in Hilliard, Ohio (just outside of Columbus).

Responsibilities

• Provide support on a comprehensive range of HR activities, including performance management, policy compliance, recruitment, compensation, employee relations and other HR-related functional areas
• Make recommendations regarding adherence to applicable federal, state and local laws, as well as LifeWise Academy policies and procedures
• Create and maintain documentation for HR processes and best practices
• Support LifeWise Academy’s efforts to maintain a healthy and supportive workplace culture, while ensuring accountability to organizational values and ethical standards
• Support the HR manager in developing a high-performing HR team
• Optimize tools and platforms to improve team productivity and user experience
• Partner with other teams to resolve complex program needs
• Address HR matters including disciplinary actions, performance issues and employee separations
• Participate in the implementation and integration of new policies, procedures, tools and strategies
• 2+ years of experience as an HR professional
• Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business administration or similar (preferred)
• Experience working in a faith-based or nonprofit environment (preferred)
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the proven ability to facilitate crucial conversations
• Comprehensive understanding of HR legislation, policies and procedures
• PHR or SPHR certification (preferred)
