Job description

Job Summary

As a Human Resources Generalist, you will support Associates and leaders throughout the employee lifecycle by providing thoughtful HR guidance, managing employee relations, and driving key people processes. You will work collaboratively across the organization while taking ownership of HR programs, reporting, and initiatives that enhance the Associate experience. One of the most rewarding aspects of this role is partnering with leaders to solve complex people challenges and helping build a culture where Associates can thrive and perform at their best.

You will thrive in this role if you:

  • Think clearly, work methodically, and pay close attention to details that matter.

  • Communicate in a factual, professional, and straightforward manner.

  • Enjoy balancing meaningful employee interaction with administrative, documentation, and process-driven work.

  • Stay organized while managing recurring deadlines, confidential matters, and competing priorities.

  • Value consistency, accuracy, and dependable follow-through.

  • Use data, trends, and sound judgment to inform decisions and recommendations.

  • Remain steady and effective when handling sensitive situations with discretion and professionalism.

  • Bring structure to complexity

This role may be less energizing for someone who prefers:

  • Highly unstructured work with little process or follow-through

  • Constant novelty over recurring ownership and disciplined execution

  • Fast-moving idea generation without equal interest in detail, documentation, and completion

These skills will be used to:

  • Partner with Associates and people leaders on employee relations, performance management, policy interpretation, and day-to-day HR support.

  • Manage Associate relations matters with professionalism, thorough documentation, appropriate discretion, and timely escalation when necessary.

  • Support and enhance performance management processes, including performance reviews, development planning, tenure tracking, and promotion readiness.

  • Prepare recurring HR reports and analyze people data, including turnover trends, feedback, dashboards, audits, and other workforce analytics.

  • Support onboarding, new Associate feedback, exit surveys, and retention initiatives.

  • Maintain accurate HR data and documentation while ensuring integrity across HR systems and workflows.

  • Utilize Culture Index insights to support communication, coaching, and talent selection conversations.

  • Develop, communicate, and reinforce HR policies, procedures, and best practices.

  • Partnerwith leaders to ensure HR processes are handled consistently, accurately, and responsively.

  • Contribute to training, communications, and continuous process improvement efforts that strengthen the overall Associate experience.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or a related field.

  • 2–4 years of human resources experience in a generalist, coordinator, or similar HR support role.

  • Working knowledge of employee relations, performance management, onboarding, compliance, and HR systems.

  • Strong analytical, reporting, organizational, and data accuracy skills.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and the ability to quickly learn HR systems and technology.

Preferred Qualifications

  • HR certification (aPHR, PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, or SHRM-SCP).

  • Experience with Paylocity or a similar HRIS platform.

  • Experience supporting people analytics, employee surveys, process improvement initiatives, and manager coaching.

  • Familiarity with Culture Index or similar behavioral assessment tools.

Physical demands and work environment

  • Must be able to use sensory skills (i.e. verbal communication) to effectively communicate and interact with other Associates and customers.

  • Must be able to perform repetitive motions and use fine motor skills (i.e. typing, writing) to operate office supplies (i.e. computer, calculator, copier).

  • Must be able to lift and carry approximately 20-25lbs unassisted.

  • Must be able to sit for long periods of time with low periods of reaching and standing.
