Accountability: This position reports to the Human Resources Manager

Position summary:

The Human Resources Generalist serves as the primary on-site HR partner for assigned locations in Burnsville, MN and Noblesville, IN, providing hands‑on support to employees, supervisors, and site leadership. This role requires regular travel between locations on an established rotation and is responsible for delivering consistent, responsive HR support in alignment with company policies, employment practices, and business needs. While key HR functions such as payroll, benefits administration, and compliance are centralized through the Warminster, PA headquarters, this position owns local recruiting, employee relations, performance support, safety and injury reporting coordination, training support, employee engagement activities, and day‑to‑day HR administration for both sites. The Human Resources Generalist reports to the Human Resources Manager and serves as a trusted resource for maintaining a positive, compliant, and productive workplace.

Responsibilities:
  • Manage full-cycle recruiting activities for assigned locations, including position intake, job postings, candidate sourcing, resume review, phone screens, interview coordination, candidate communication, employment offer support, and pre-employment process coordination.
  • Serve as the primary HR point of contact for employees, supervisors, and site leadership, maintaining a visible on-site presence according to the established travel rotation and responding promptly to HR-related questions and concerns.
  • Document, investigate, and assist with resolution of employee complaints and employee relations matters, ensuring issues are handled timely, consistently, confidentially, and in accordance with company policy.
  • Advise managers and supervisors on corrective action documentation and employee communication; represent HR in disciplinary meetings, including written warnings, final warnings, suspensions, and terminations as appropriate.
  • Review corrective action practices across assigned locations to promote consistency, fairness, proper documentation, and alignment with company expectations.
  • Ensure work-related incidents and injuries are documented, reported, and followed up on appropriately to support Workers’ Compensation and OSHA reporting requirements; coordinate with the HR Manager, insurance carrier, and site leadership as needed.
  • Administer the local uniform program, including inventory monitoring, ordering, distribution, tracking, issue resolution, and coordination with vendors or internal stakeholders as needed.
  • Provide guidance to managers and supervisors on performance management matters, including performance expectations, coaching conversations, documentation, and annual performance appraisal preparation.
  • Coordinate notification, tracking, and completion of the employee performance appraisal process for assigned locations, following up with managers to ensure deadlines and documentation requirements are met.
  • Prepare and maintain employee documentation related to onboarding, transfers, promotions, job changes, status changes, and other employment actions, ensuring accuracy and timely submission to centralized HR.
  • Prepare payroll authorization documentation for annual performance increases, merit increases, promotions, transfers, and other approved compensation changes in coordination with centralized HR and payroll.
  • Deliver training programs based on site needs, including skills-based training, compliance-related training, and development opportunities; audit employee training records in company systems for completeness and accuracy.
  • Assist with the preparation of training materials, communication of training schedules, attendance tracking, and coordination of in-house training sessions at both locations.
  • Administer employee appreciation, recognition, and rewards programs; plan, coordinate, and execute quarterly employee events and other engagement activities that support morale and retention.
  • Monitor and manage expenses for local HR programs, employee events, training activities, and other site-level initiatives in accordance with approved budgets and company guidelines.
  • Manage company credit card expenses effectively and responsibly, ensuring all charges are accurate, properly documented, submitted timely, and in accordance with the company Travel and Expense Policy.
  • Assist with the maintenance, organization, communication, and distribution of HR documents, including the Employee Handbook, HR forms, policies and procedures, job descriptions, employee notices, and related materials.
  • Support broader HR initiatives, special projects, employee communications, audits, employee meetings, company-wide meetings, and continuous improvement efforts as assigned.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred; equivalent combination of education and relevant experience may be considered.
  • Minimum of four years of progressive Human Resources experience, preferably in a manufacturing, distribution, multi‑site, or hourly workforce environment.
  • PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, or SHRM‑SCP certification preferred.
  • Experience using HRIS, applicant tracking, timekeeping, and payroll systems; ADP Workforce Now experience preferred.
  • Strong problem‑solving, conflict resolution, investigation, and decision‑making skills, with the ability to assess issues objectively and recommend practical solutions.
  • Ability to manage schedules, priorities, deadlines, and communications across multiple stakeholders, shifts, and locations.
  • Willing and able to travel regularly between assigned locations on a recurring rotation, with occasional travel to Havis’ Corporate Office in Warminster, PA.
  • Comfortable presenting information, facilitating discussions, and delivering training to employees and managers in individual and group settings.
  • Working knowledge of employment laws, wage and hour practices, workplace policies, work rules, employee classifications, and HR compliance requirements.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate professionally, clearly, and tactfully with employees at all levels of the organization.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Highly organized, goal-oriented, and detail-driven, with the ability to follow through on commitments and maintain accurate records.
  • Demonstrates sound judgment, discretion, professionalism, and sensitivity when handling confidential, complex, or sensitive employee matters.
  • Ability to build credibility and trust with a diverse, multi‑site workforce while conveying information in a clear, respectful, and approachable manner.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and adapt quickly in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment with changing business needs.
  • Willingness and flexibility to support HR initiatives, meetings, training, investigations, and employee communications across multiple shifts as business needs require.
  • Ability to read, understand, and communicate written and verbal instructions in English.
  • Strong attention to detail, follow‑up skills, and ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
