About the Role
The Director of Human Resources provides strategic and operational leadership for all HR functions at Pueo Business Solutions. Reporting to the Chief Business Executive, this position develops and administers HR programs, policies, and practices that support organizational objectives, workforce effectiveness, and compliance with federal contracting requirements.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary HR advisor to executive leadership on workforce and employment matters.
- Develop and execute HR strategies that support organizational goals and growth.
- Lead workforce planning, organizational development, employee retention, and succession planning initiatives.
- Build and maintain scalable HR processes, programs, and policies.
- Oversee employee relations, performance management, workplace investigations, corrective actions, and employee separations.
- Advise managers on employment matters and best practices.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws, as well as federal contractor requirements.
- Maintain HR policies, employee handbook, and employment-related compliance programs.
- Lead recruiting, onboarding, and workforce planning efforts.
- Oversee compensation and benefits programs and advise leadership on employment-related decisions.
- Ensure competitive and compliant employment practices that support attraction and retention of talent.
- Oversee HR systems, employee records, reporting, onboarding, offboarding, leave administration, accommodations, and related HR processes.
- Monitor HR metrics and recommend improvements that enhance efficiency, compliance, and employee experience.
- Lead, coach, and develop HR team members while promoting high service standards and accountability.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- 10+ years of progressive HR experience, including leadership responsibility.
- Strong knowledge of employee relations, employment law, performance management, recruiting, compensation, benefits, and HR operations.
- Experience supporting a multi-state workforce and advising organizational leadership.
- Excellent communication, leadership, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

- Experience supporting a federal government contractor, defense contractor, or professional services organization.
- Knowledge of federal contractor employment and compliance requirements.
- Experience with HRIS, payroll, benefits administration, and applicant tracking systems.
- SHRM-SCP, SPHR, or equivalent professional certification.
