Lead HR strategy across multiple locations in a role that blends hands-on support with long-term people planning. Multi-Unit Operations is seeking a Director of Human Resources to strengthen its human resources function, partner with executive and operational teams, and help sustain growth through strong HR compliance, leadership development, and employee engagement. This onsite position is based in Kansas City, MO.

With an annual salary of $125,000, you will help shape consistent HR policies and practices across a decentralized footprint while supporting a culture built on integrity, professionalism, accountability, and continuous improvement.

What you'll do

• Provide strategic HR leadership and guidance to executive leadership and operational teams.
• Oversee employee relations, including workplace investigations, conflict resolution, and recommendations for appropriate corrective action.
• Serve as a trusted advisor on sensitive and complex personnel matters, using discretion and sound judgment.
• Develop, implement, and maintain consistent HR policies, procedures, and best practices across multiple locations.
• Ensure compliance with applicable federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
• Support leadership development, performance management, succession planning, and employee engagement initiatives.
• Partner with operational leaders to strengthen accountability, communication, and organizational effectiveness.
• Oversee talent acquisition strategies, employee retention initiatives, and workforce planning.
• Identify opportunities to improve HR processes, systems, and overall operational efficiency.
• Foster a culture of continuous improvement through consistent, fair HR practices.

What you bring

• Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field (preferred).
• Minimum 7-10 years of progressive human resources experience with leadership responsibilities.
• Demonstrated experience supporting multi-location or decentralized operations.
• Strong knowledge of employment law, employee relations, workplace investigations, and HR compliance.
• Proven ability to navigate complex personnel matters and provide clear, objective recommendations to senior leadership.
• Experience supporting a growing organization with evolving operational needs.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, decision-making, and conflict-resolution skills.
• SHRM-SCP, SPHR, or similar professional certification preferred.
