Job summary

JOB SUMMARY

Responsible for conducting training and supporting employee development programs and activities. Training areas include but are not limited to orientation, hospitality/guest service, performance coaching & counseling, supervisory/management skills, interview skills, conflict mediation, and safety. Administers training records, databases, and related reports.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
  • Promotes exemplary guest service standards through prompt, efficient, and friendly service.
  • Assists the Training and Development Manager in developing and implementing annual training goals.
  • Develops, posts, and distributes the monthly training calendars.
  • Conducts training in an organized, engaging manner.
  • Prepares for training, including securing training rooms, setting up, audiovisual equipment, preparing materials, obtaining required forms, copying materials, and preparing sign-in sheets.
  • Assists with new hire orientation, including facilitating sessions and coordinating schedules with Human Resources staff and management.
  • Works closely with the training manager to assess, evaluate and improve training and employee development efforts.
  • Develops training concepts that may benefit WRC’s organizational needs and upon approval, creates and delivers training materials and presentations.
  • Provides guidance and identifies resources for employees interested in enhancing their job skills, exploring career fields, completing educational levels, and other training and development options.
  • Assists with developing and delivering departmental training as needed, including attending staff meetings to conduct training, clarify policies, and promote understanding. Enters training records into the HRIS and forwards copies of training documentation for inclusion in employee personnel files.
  • Assists with employee recognition and celebration events.
  • Develops and maintains a professional working relationship with educational, training, or workforce development agencies.
  • Maintains training library and establishes a utilization plan of training tools/resources.
  • Must be able to work all shifts as needed to accommodate training needs for all departments.
  • Promotes confidentiality of personnel files, records, and HR actions at all times.
  • Assists with special projects, assignments, and tasks as directed by the Manager or Director.
  • Keeps the Manager and the Director informed of any unusual personnel needs, issues, or concerns.
  • Complies with applicable laws and regulations, the employee handbook, department policies and procedures, and safety requirements.
  • Promotes a clean, safe, and healthy work environment for employees and guests, and promptly reports concerns to the Supervisor.
  • Ensures that equipment, tools, and materials are operated safely.
  • Other related duties as assigned.

SIGNATORY ABILITY:

  • Employee files and HRIS.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Two (2) years of experience in Human Resources, Learning & Development, Training, Employee Relations, Talent Development, Organizational Development, Leadership Development, or a related field. Experience facilitating meetings, onboarding, coaching, or employee education may be substituted for formal training experience.
  • Working knowledge of adult learning principles, employee development, facilitation techniques, or the ability to develop these competencies through training and coaching.
  • High school diploma or GED required. Equivalent combinations of education, experience, and demonstrated competency will be considered.
  • Demonstrates effective communication, facilitation, presentation, or group instruction skills with the ability to confidently deliver information to individuals and groups.
  • Demonstrates effective presentation skills using computers and related software applications.
  • Requires excellent communication skills and the ability to confidently express ideas in written, verbal, and interpersonal situations.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills to effectively plan and execute goals. Must be able to think quickly, adapt to changing situations, and develop effective solutions to problems.
  • Demonstrates proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, database applications, Internet-based resources, and graphic design or presentation software.
  • Needs to sit for long periods at a computer station using repetitive motion of arms, wrists, hands, and fingers; performs routine office duties including bending, lifting and moving up to 25 pounds; good auditory acuity to converse directly, in a group and over the phone; good voice tone to relay information; and able to walk through varying environmental conditions throughout the facility, including outdoor areas and casino-related noise levels.
  • Demonstrates dependable work history and maintains a flexible schedule to accommodate training needs across multiple shifts and departments.
  • Maintains professional appearance, conduct, and workplace standards.
  • Requires a High-Security Gaming License clearance.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Associate degree in Education, Human Resources, Business Administration, Organizational Development, or a related field.
