Human Resources Coordinator – Charleston, West Virginia

Bowles Rice LLP, an established law firm with offices throughout West Virginia, Virginia, and Pennsylvania, is seeking a dependable and highly motivated Human Resources Coordinator in its Charleston office.

The Human Resources Coordinator (HR Coordinator) is charged with performing the day-to-day tasks of the Human Resources Department. The HR Coordinator reports to the HR Director. The primary responsibility of the HR Coordinator is to ensure that all employees’ needs, relative to the administrative aspects of their employment, are met with confidentiality and professionalism. Specific responsibilities include: Preparing and posting advertisements for vacancies; responding to applicants, scheduling interviews, and conducting reference checks; gathering information and completing all required documentation for newly hired employees; assisting in the coordination of new employee orientation; coordinating enrollments into medical, retirement, and other benefits plans offered by the firm; maintaining confidentiality in employee documents; coordinating employer-sponsored functions, including community and employee activities. This position will ensure compliance with all applicable Federal, State, and Local laws and regulations regarding employment practices.

Candidates should have excellent time management and organizational skills; attention to detail; the ability to multi-task; and must be able to handle a large workload in a fast-paced environment characterized by rapid changes, frequent tasks, and demands for quick decision-making. It requires adaptability, multitasking, and the ability to work efficiently under pressure. The successful candidate will be energetic, efficient, and have the interpersonal skills to interact with the firm’s personnel.

A minimum of two years’ experience in human resources preferred. Must possess strong written and verbal communication skills and a proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, etc.). Must be able to successfully pass all required background screening, including Criminal and Employment Credit Report.
